Camping at Ainsworth State Park wasn't quite as exciting as I had planned because of smoke in the air but on the last morning it was a little clearer so I rode to the nearby Horsetail Falls and captured the never-ending beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. #oregon #waterfalls

#Oregon's wildfires are some of the worst in the nation right now and I had to choose this week as a great time to go biking in the Columbia River Gorge. Since I was already camping there, I went a few miles and snapped some pictures of the smokey area but will have to come back another time.

At Veterans Memorial Park in #Beaverton, a Revolutionary War Memorial has been recently added to commemorate this country's semiquincentennial signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was a great, local place to visit on July 4.

The "100 Hikes Eastern Oregon" book lists the trail to Steins Pillar in Crook County as easy but I agree with the "moderate" label given by the AllTrails app because of several steep sections. Lots of people and dogs out there today. #oregontreasuresquest #oregon #hikes

Hiked into the Spring Basin Wilderness in Wheeler County yesterday. So remote, so peaceful. Without #oregontreasuresquest I would not have known about this secluded area. There's a 9-mile trail around the area but I only did a small part, up to a viewpoint. #oregon #hiking
