The embroidery is in crewel wool (noticeably thicker than modern floss). The title, in black, is sewn in stem stitch, a medieval stitch with a twisted or chainlike appearance. The author name, in beige, is sewn in backstitch, a thinner modern stitch.

The largest central illustration is a clay pitcher and two cups; a green fish with a pink tail and grimacing shark teeth is leaping up behind one cup, and a yellow leaf and pink jewel are floating above the other.

The small illustrations on either side of the top title word are a pair of silver keys, one with normal teeth and one with no teeth and two blue sparkles.

The bottom illustration is a row of four flowers in red, pink, blue, and orange. A threaded medieval needle is still attached to the orange flower. There's a faint round blood-colored stain near the point of the needle, and more staining along the bottom edge of the fabric.
