Metroid came out in 1986. I probably played it in 1988? I was like 5 or 6 when I played it. The experience haunted me and enticed me. Super Metroid was one of the few SNES games I absolutely *begged* for because of it. It's one my brother and I fought over. All because Metroid didn't have a map.
