And so a new path lays before me. I've been plotting and world building this story for about 6 months now. Chapter 1 is written. I really do love the idea of this story. A male PoV, dark romantasy [FOURTH WING x FIRST LAW] #DreadswornSaga

If you’ve ever craved a fantasy series where the stakes are personal and world-ending, the lines between good and evil are gloriously blurred, and dragons aren’t just mounts—they’re part of their rider's soul... Then, this could be your next obsession. www.amazon.com/Elmer%25C3%2...

I think the best magic systems always have a cost. Blood or body for power. Memories for untapped knowledge. Years of life for a single wish. The best "spells" are never free. Anything given too easily is never worth the price, whether that is mortally based or morality based.

I broke through my writing block. Turns out all I had to do was rework my plot! So...despite postponing the release of Ruins of a Shattered Dawn, I am back to writing it. I have 17 chapters of a battle to go through, then 3 devastatingly final chapters

Perhaps grimdark has grown as much as it has because the world has become more cynical and hope feels foolish at times. Many people are living in perpetual shitty situations, and I think relateability plays a factor. Additionally, I tend to find characters in grimdark books have more depth.

Thank you, Summer. I think I've read about as many military/ political thrillers in the last 5 years as I have fantasy. I think I can do it. I have my military background to make it world weary and realistic, and my fantasy background to build out my world

I'm excited to be finally writing my military thriller. I'm still in the fence about adding supernatural/ dark fantasy elements or if I want to go straight to the military thriller genre. Thoughts?

With an epilogue of sorts, Ruins of a Shattered Dawn will be about 80 chapters. To put that into perspective, Bloods of a Withering Kingdom, book 2, was 67 chapters and came out to 680 pages! So if I crack 800 pages on book 3, I won't be surprised at this point!
