Cycling from Normandy to Paris to watch the final stage of the TdF and getting up early in the morning to bike through the city past the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. That was a great day and a lot of fun.

Funny story. Was at a wine festival in Vienna. A car was parked in front of a hydrant. Police came, but rather than tow the car, they just jacked it up, put a big roller skate under each wheel, and moved it about 30 feet.

Well, some of them have migrating eyeballs, so yes, I think they are aware.

A peacock flounder blending in to the bottom of the sea near Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. It is share of tan with some blue highlights, which almost perfectly conceal it against the sand and eel grass covering the bottom. Flounders have weird migrating eyes.

We have an over abundance of cherry tomatoes due to impending cold weather. Made baked chicken thighs in tomato jam with some of them last night. Turned out delicious! 🍽️

Baking pan fresh from the oven, with chicken thighs in a garlic/cumin/paprika paste, surrounded by cherry tomatoes from our garden, smashed garlic cloves, and pancetta. All roasted together and bursting with glorious flavors.

The plated meal. White plate with a bed of jasmine rice, topped with chicken thighs baked with a cumin/garlic/paprika/lemon paste. All covered with a tomato jam of baked cherry tomatoes, smashed garlic cloves, and pancetta. Jam finished with a touch of lemon juice to brighten it up and chopped parsley.

Two recent soups ( well, one is a cassoulet, so not quite a soup, but I'm going with it ). First is a Peruvian inspired potato soup. The other is a duck confit cassoulet with some homemade sourdough toast. Both were delicious.

They can be very expensive free cats though. One of ours turns out to have asthma, which we found out after an visit to the emergency vet to spend the weekend in an oxygen chamber. He’s fine now though, just needs an inhaler twice a day. Would 100% do again.
