In central Mali, a broken water pump helped divided communities to start talking again. The Suudu Baaba project paired peacebuilding with food systems: rehabilitating shared vegetable sites gave farmers and pastoralists a reason to cooperate. Trust between communities rose from 39% to 85%.

Over 5 years, the Just Future programme in South Sudan helped 12,000+ people access justice, supported women into governance roles, and channelled 70% of resources to local organisations. The programme ended in December, but the community networks it built are still going.
