Very comprehensive article and a very dark holiday read. The most significant religious persecution happening in USA currently is Christian Nationalists attacking and oppressing marginal and vulnerable Christians, predominantly but not exclusively of South American origin.

We need to understand the difference between politeness and true civility and compassion. Many who regularly do monstrous things are very polite and funny and engaging and do “nice” things when it suits. It’s only an “act” if she was if portraying a caricature like Colbert used to.

If this is not safe for ever everyone, it should be attended by no one.The only thing Trump is listening to (albeit selectively) is the business lobby. It “worked” for the Agricultural and Hospitality industry. We need all industry where those with precarious status work (or gather) to push back.

This is the language being used to justify this over response and l suspect to amp up chargesArrest is often a symbolic act in demonstrations but l would encourage people to avoid at all costs.
