An image of the Revelator book cover with the text "Forthcoming September 1, 2026"A quote from Ellie Black: “I found this incredible painting by Fiona Finnegan on Tumblr last summer. I thought it might make a good book cover someday; little did I know that in only a few months, it would come in handy! I just think it’s a perfect companion for Revelator—it ties together several of the book’s threads regarding electricity, technology, power, the divine, etc. I can physically hear the lightning cracking every time I look at it. Plus the hand looks a little like my hand, which I think is fun. (Also, the blue/pink text combo is a bit of a shoutout to The Bell Jar.)”

Forthcoming August 25: THE MAN IN 119 by KAZIM ALI Today, ALI tells us the story behind his newest collection's cover art. Learn more about THE MAN IN 119 and preorder your copy at buff.ly/HU4OpXj
"The title of my book comes from the opening phrase of the 10,000 Maniacs song 'Verdi Cries,' but 119 was also the hospital room in which my mother left this realm for others, the place I saw her for the last time. I imagine the cover image is a hotel door opening to the immense eternity of the sea beyond. The colors of the wall and sea match, signifying a relationship between the constraints of mortality and the promise of infinity. This is a book of regret, yes, but also of what lies past regret. And though the mood of traveling alone (as everyone does, ultimately), may be one of melancholy, one also seeks (and finds) joy and bliss."
