Five years ago, Paris wasn’t the cycling city it is today. As of the 2025 Copenhagenize Index, it's ranked #5 in the world with cycling modal share doubling in record time (from 5% to 11%).

Better cycling cities are not just "more bike-friendly." They are also more equitable in access to cycling between genders. This means that infrastructure, safety, and policy improvements tend to benefit women more by removing barriers that affect them disproportionately. #cycling #bicycleurbanism
