Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: What the Proposed Head Start Changes Could Mean for Young Children with Disabilities. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.
The proposed changes to Head Start would eliminate most Performance Standards specifically focused on supporting children with disabilities, including requirements related to developmental screening, inclusion, family support, coordination with IDEA agencies, transportation and protections against exclusion. Join Start Early and Together for Young Children with Disabilities to explore what these changes could mean in practice for children with disabilities, their families and Head Start programs. Families, program leaders and disability experts will share perspectives on how current standards support children and families, and what could be at stake if they are removed. The webinar will include concrete ways to respond before the October 6 public comment deadline, including a disability-focused comment template to help participants submit detailed, personalized comments.
