I just finished The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne and OMG this was the best book I've read this year!! I've read the first volume as an ebook but already ordered all 3 books in the deluxe edition 😍 (now I have to wait until August🥲) if you like fantasy & vikings, please read this, it's amazing!

I don't know if my bookshop made a mistake or if they were allowed to sell this special edition early, but I've waited a long time for this book (it's set in the same world as The Spellshop and The Enchanted Greenhouse), and I just got it 2½ weeks early 😍 And just in time for the next heatwave ☀️🌡

Last month I finished the "Memoirs of Lady Trent" by Marie Brennan and they are great cozy fantasy & exploration books. I can highly recommend these 🩵 They're based on the victorian era, and part of the focus is on the struggle of female scientists during those times! (And the covers are gorgeous!!)

And this week I finished the Lutesong Series by R.K. Ashwick! A bard accidentally gets his lute posessed by a forest spirit and they play music together and go on adventures! It's adorable and I fully recommend it for anyone who likes a bit of a cozy adventure and loves music! 💚🪕

Last week I finished the Tide Child Trilogy by RJ Barker! I stumbled upon the first volume in a bookshop & the combination of ships and dragons was an instant selling point for me 🩵 It took me a while to get into it, but in the end I enjoyed it a lot, with the 2. book being my favourite of the 3! 😊

I tend to read more than one book at the same time & was looking for sth a bit more bloody to go alongside the more relaxing Trent Memoirs, and The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan hit the spot perfectly 🤩 Sassy demons possessing tired, ageless men is always fun to read 😁 (+ a succubus housekeeper 👀😂)

Today I read "We burned so bright" by TJ Klune, one of my favourite authors! The world is ending in a month and husbands Don and Rodney go on a last roadtrip to fulfill a promise they made a long time ago. It is a heart warming and gut wrenching story of how people deal with the (end of the) world

I'll make a start with "A natural history of dragons" by Marie Brennan, which I've finished yesterday and adored! It's written in the style of Memoirs in a fantasy world with dragons, but leaning heavily on victorian age England, including the struggles of women in science during that time.

I finally read The Inheritance, a collection of short stories by Megan Lindholm/Robin Hobb! The Megan Lindholm stories were very good but overall rather sad, but I loved the 3 Hobb stories!! I didn't realise how much I missed the Six Duchies, and I especially love the Rain Wilds and Bingtown 🥰🥹

I'm in love with this adorable little Tolkien book set that I got as a present 🥰 I've always wanted to read the Adventures of Tom Bombadil and I'm curious about the other stories 😃 And it's always even more fun to read books when they're pretty 😆🩵

I couldn't stop myself and bought a second Book Nook last week 🥰

I love Pokemon TCG but it lowkey makes me mad that Nidoqueen and the female Nidoran need the male counterpart to be properly useful, but the male versions don't have any handicaps 🙄 #PokemonTCG

I just finished reading the Lifeship Trader trilogy and I am blown away. One of the best trilogies I've ever read! Despite the size of the books the story never seemed to drag or become boring! The way Robin Hobb writes her characters, but especially the women, and their reactions and changes (1/2)

It's so immensely satisfying that all my "Realms of the Elderlings" books by Robin Hobb fit perfectly on one bookshelf 🥰 (Makes up for having a hodgepodge of different editions for the Rain Wild Chronicles 😅😅) And they're not in the right order, I decided to sort by size for aesthetic reasons 😅

I finally had the chance to see Jupiter through my telescope today for the very first time! 🥰🥰 And the Galilean moons were clearly visible as well 😃 the picture was taken with my phone through the lense, that's why it's shaky and too bright. You could actually see 2 stripes on Jupiter! 😃
