So this guy's the acting CDC director? www.technologyreview.com/2025/06/30/1...
This idea is bolstered not just by his personal and professional relationships but also by his past statements and history working at aging-focused organizations—all of which suggest he indeed believes scientists should be working on ways to extend human lifespan beyond its current limits and thinks unproven therapies should be easier to access. He has also supported the libertarian idea of creating new geographic zones, possibly at sea, in which residents can live by their own rules (including, notably, permissive regulatory regimes for new drugs and therapies).

“In [the last three administrations] there weren’t really people like that from our field taking these positions of power,” says Livingston, adding that O’Neill’s elevation is “definitely something to be excited about.”O’Neill also served as CEO of the Thiel Foundation between 2009 and 2012 and cofounded the Thiel Fellowship, which offers $200,000 to promising young people if they drop out of college and do other work. And he spent seven years as managing director of Mithril Capital Management, a “family of long-term venture capital funds” founded by Thiel, according to O’Neill’s LinkedIn profile.

O’Neill got further stitched into the longevity field when he spent more than a decade representing Thiel’s interests as a board member of the SENS Research Foundation (SRF), an organization dedicated to finding treatments for aging, to which Thiel was a significant donor.

So many reasons to hate Microsoft. apnews.com/article/isra...
The Israeli military’s usage of Microsoft and OpenAI artificial intelligence spiked last March to nearly 200 times higher than before the week leading up to the Oct. 7 attack, the AP found in reviewing internal company information. The amount of data it stored on Microsoft servers doubled between that time and July 2024 to more than 13.6 petabytes — roughly 350 times the digital memory needed to store every book in the Library of Congress. Usage of Microsoft’s huge banks of computer servers by the military also rose by almost two-thirds in the first two months of the war alone.

By restoring shower freedom,
Screenshot from the White House website:

It’s not just showers—the Biden Administration aggressively targeted everyday appliances like gas stoves, water heaters, washing machines, furnaces, dishwashers, and more, waging war on the reliable tools Americans depend on daily.
These appliances worked perfectly fine before Biden’s meddling piled on convoluted regulations that made those appliances worse.
President Trump is slashing red tape and ending Biden’s dumb war on things that work.
DELIVERING ON PROMISES: By restoring shower freedom, President Trump is following through on his commitment to dismantle unnecessary regulations and put Americans first.

"The report found that sexual and gender-based violence – which has risen in frequency and severity – is being perpetrated across the Occupied Palestinian Territory as a strategy of war for Israel to dominate and destroy the Palestinian people." www.ohchr.org/en/press-rel...
The release of the report was accompanied by two days of public hearings held in Geneva on 11-12 March, during which the Commission heard from victims and witnesses of sexual and reproductive violence and medical personnel who assisted them, as well as representatives from civil society, academics, lawyers and medical experts.

From Stanley's book on propaganda.
In 1941, James Burnham published a book, The Managerial Revolution, predicting the end of an era in which communism faced off against capitalism, and Stalinism against democracy.27 Burnham argued that the future would be "a managerial society" in which heads of multinational corporations would have de facto policy control over individual states.Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, all standing on the Inauguration stage among Donald Trump's cabinet.

Louis Charbonneau, HRW UN Director, not pulling any punches in this statement on today's US veto.
🚨 #BREAKING - US just vetoed another resolution on #Gaza in the UN Security Council. All other Council members voted in favor. @hrw's reaction follows in a short thread. 🧵 1/x.@hrw: “Once again, the US used its veto to ensure impunity for #Israel as its forces continue to commit crimes against Palestinians in #Gaza, including mass forced displacement and the use of starvation as a weapon of war." 2/x.@hrw: The resolution the US rejected called for the release of Israeli hostages & compliance with int'l humanitarian law, which US has called for. By shielding #Israel authorities from pressure & scrutiny, the US is de facto condoning their crimes against humanity. 3/x

This part seems relevant given recent announcements.
The trick, for Yarvin, is for the would-be American Caesar to exercise emergency powers from day one. How? Caesar should run for president promising to do precisely this, and then announce the national emergency in his inaugural address, encouraging every state government to do the same. Taking advantages of "ambiguities" in the Constitution, he will immediately act to federalize the national guard around the country and welcome backup from sympathetic members of the police (who will wear armbands to signal their support for Caesar).

The Fox host with Trump's ear on military issues urges him to bomb Iranian cultural sites and 'rewrite the rules' of war to be 'advantageous to us'
Eliza Relman Jan 8, 2020, 10:40 AM GMT-5On Wednesday morning, Hegseth used his powerful microphone on Fox to urge Trump to threaten attacks on Iran's infrastructure, oil production facilities, nuclear facilities, and cultural sites.
Hegseth appeared to encourage Trump to undermine international law and target Iranian cultural sites if they're being used to store weapons.
"If we're going to fight to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear bomb, this regime, then we need to rewrite the rules that are advantageous to us," he said.
