RANDOM TTRPG THOUGHT One of my favorite things to do when designing a campaign is take something from popular media & ask myself "how I would make my own version of this"? One of my most successful games ever was me saying "how would I do a Batman type character" & going from there.

RANDOM TTRPG THOUGHT I can never tell if my algorithm has shifted or if things have actually changed. I remember a time when all I heard about what Daggerheart or people's actual plan, but now it's pretty quiet for me on that front. Did the algorithm adjust away from that content for me?

RANDOM TTRPG THOUGHT Sometimes you got to do something different. Play a different game. Go for that class you choose. GM something in an entirely different genre. It doesn't have to stick. It doesn't have to be some kind of masterpiece. It's just to gain perspective on what you do & don't like.

RANDOM TTRPG THOUGHT I like D&D and it's various branches quite a bit. Yet it's also the game I get burnt out on the quickest, whether I'm running it or playing it And to be clear, I'm not hating on it at all. I have a lot of fun with it. It just is a short-lived enjoyment.

RANDOM TTRPG THOUGHT I feel like most people go with the philosophy of slowly building up to a main antagonist reveal & I get it. Build up the hype. Make them elusive. I like throwing them right out in the beginning, often when the players are not in a position to do something about them. 😜

TTRPG Question of the Day How do you feel about pre-generated characters? I prefer them more & more the older I get. Selecting a premade template, or being given a sheet then making it my own that I really dig. I definitely enjoy it more than the build most of the time. But that just me.

TTRPG Question of the Day Have you encountered cheating & if so, in what form? You might not ever have experienced it, but some of us have seen all kinds of stuff one might consider cheating. Obviously there's fudging rolls, but there also stuff like altering sheets or looking at the GM's notes.

TTRPG Question of the Day Do you prefer games where you roll the dice frequently or do you prefer rolling less often? Some people get genuinely angry about how often they have to roll the dice, stating that it slows things down or breaks immersion. Other people think rolling math rocks IS the fun.

TTRPG Question of the Day Do you prefer to play in a published setting or a homebrew one? Most the games I see run are homebrew, especially in the D&D variants. I seldom see a Forgotten Realms or Eberron. But at the same time as I say that, some games seem to only get run in the standard setting.
