I'm mostly using K3 in Codex right now. It's pretty good. It's not cheap but it's comparable with the duopoly. I use it the same way I used Sol or Opus: 1. Sketch out the plan for the feature implementation - several prompts 2. Implement it - one prompt (+skills) 3. Refinement - many prompts

Would someone security conscious enough to host an MCP/AI Gateway in their own home then be willing to let the agent run on a VM in the cloud? What if the machine the VM was running on had no direct internal or external Internet access, all access goes through a tunnel service via PrivateLink?

I think platforms like github should invest in exposing audit information. An agent should be able to see a log of events that occurred and know whether it was me, another agent, or itself that made some change.

So anyway, I'm currently thinking that package sources live in an OCI registry of your choosing, and the package metadata (dependencies, version, etc) lives in your PDS. It will support off-platform dependencies via packageurl.org.

I'm pretty deep in the LLM psychosis right now. It started from ADHD induced burnout for a project I really wanted to work on but I just couldn't get past the mental block. I was able to throw cursor at it and make very solid progress. Now it's also my notes and research assistant.

In case you didn't know. Lightweight crypto(graphy) doesn't mean weak crypto. Lightweight constructions like ascon-aead are not designed to be faster than chacha20. I think in practice they're usually slower. They're actually intended to encrypt smaller block sizes with less working memory

Considering rewriting my paseto/paserk impls atm. PASETO V3 features only NIST algorithms, whereas V4 features only libsodium/nacl I'm wondering: 1. Does it make sense to keep v3 and v4 in the same library? 2. If you need v3, do you also need FIPS?

I urge companies to take funding contributors seriously, in ways that aren’t tied to projects and goals. Being a generalist in the compiler meant that often I wasn’t working towards a roadmap, but my contributions *always* paid off in the long term extensibility of the language.

When working with async, you often need to call a function that would block the runtime. Turns out not all blocking functions are the same Tokio defines two kinds of blocking functions: IO bound and CPU bound. A close read of the tokio docs tells you to avoid CPU bound tasks in spawn_blocking
