#LGBTQWriteAThon Looney Lynda Darcey was heavily inspired by Friday the 13th and other slashers, as well as a nice dash of eldritch horror a la Stranger Things. For the sequel, I’m going a more Nightmare On Elm Street inspired path… #QueerWriters #Booksky #Writingcommunity

If I had a nickel for every musical property that used a carnival theme for Hell and portrayed sinners seeking to do battle with Heaven, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice. #HazbinHotel #DevilsCarnival

#WIPSnips A (very) rough draft from Influencer, my upcoming 3rd novel. Here, my title character is "comforting" one of his viewers just before she makes a fatal decision. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #HorrorBooks

Excerpt from my WIP novel, Influencer, where the titular character "comforts" a young girl named Alice.

0153

Connor Heumiller (he/him) @connorwriteshorror.bsky.social · 24/03/2026

#WIPSnips This is still a rough, but comes from my third novel "Influencer." In this scene, the titular Influencer and main character offers a weapon to an imprisoned father who just lost his son. Trigger warnings for suicidal themes and mentions of familial abuse. #WriterSky #WritingCommunity

An excerpt from my upcoming novel where my villain offers a wrongfully imprisoned man a box cutter so that he can "break the cycle" of abuse and join his recently deceased son.

Connor Heumiller (he/him) @connorwriteshorror.bsky.social · 18/03/2026

Both my novels are available everywhere now! Patient No. 8 is a queer horror about a cast of young people trying to survive the horrors of conversion therapy and religious trauma. And Looney Lynda Darcey is a slasher about a supernatural killing machine and the teens trapped in her domain.
