Quick reminder that @gavinnewsom.bsky.social is siphoning billions of dollars previously earmarked for affordable housing and transit and giving it to refineries and other polluters, resulting in disastrous cuts to our main statewide funding mechanisms
Chart showing approximately 80% funding cuts for various state-wide affordable housing, transit, clean air, and drinking water programs due to reduced funding for Tier 3 cap-and-invest programs

Why is @asmrickzbur.bsky.social hosting a fundraiser for Karen Bass with former Ticketmaster CEO Fred Rosen, who is opposing the Sepulveda line in AD51 and has a long history of berating civil servants and electeds with misogynistic hate— including these messages to @lindseyphorvath.bsky.social?

Those are ~3-4’ lanes (gutter is excluded from width). It’s about whats comfortable and safe for all ages and abilities. AASHTO/NACTO emphasize it for a reason. Passing in intersections, where the risk is highest, is dangerous design. Getting pressed by a commuter on an e-scooter is stressful, etc

Not necessarily true, the operations plan has always been that there will be an separate Merced-SF service as part of phase 1, and an SF-Sacramento service via san jose-gilroy-merced-modesto-stockton after phase 2 (Link21 could ultimately change the latter plan, but thats not certain)

Idk, preliminary ESFV design had dangerously wide 12’-14’ lanes and 10’-14’ “TBD Areas” that will prob end up being 8’ parking. Space for straddle bents or pillars, and I imagine catenary could be integrated into viaduct where needed to save width (like at stations). Def not $4B

Paragraph (b) and (c) seem fairly clear to me

I recently sent a letter to Katy Yaroslavsky showing that upzoning mostly along commercial corridors (as CHIP does) will exacerbate health disparities. Today, she was the deciding "yes" vote to oppose SB 79, knowingly reinforcing social determinants of health and health inequities in LA.

I would need to check the RSA for each resource but for example, the "station planning, land use, and development" RSA already includes the most likely station areas (I think it would be where the industry freight spur is being closed if not at the current metrolink location)

At that point I wish they'd add a station at National if they are already digging. UCLA housing has~1200 family/grad housing units across the street and another 500+ within ~1 mile. The area generally just has the highest density of student and faculty/staff commuters besides Sawtelle

I don’t understand how they whiffed so badly on this one. Hard to believe none of these options would be possible with some easements for a better cxn. But the one benefit is that UCLA is making Lot 36 a transit hub/bus bay where all the transit agencies will connect, right next to alt 3.

I really hope metro uses this to procure fully-walkthrough sets with longitudinal seating, similar to new B23 stock on the DLR. Our current LRVs have some of the most inefficient layouts I’ve ever experienced. Standing capacity for big events basically just means blocking every door
