No matter how many times I rewatch Avatar the Last Airbender I never get tired of it, just one of if not the most amazing show ever created. Definitley was a huge inspiration for me to start Voice Acting!

I think ADR might be my favorite form of Voice Acting, I’m just having so much with with this project I’m working on I don’t even want it to end 😄❤️

So after deleting Duolingo, I found an App called Busuu, I’m still quite early on in it but it’s already a lot better than Duo rn, so I’ll go forward with that for my language learning for now!

Conlin Rei @conlinrei.bsky.social · 01/05/2025

Cancelling my Duolingo subscription and using the app, the fact that they were so proud to fire human workers for AI is appalling and 1000 day streak be damned, I won’t support this app anymore. Looking for alternative language learning apps if anyone has any!

Halfway done with the audiobook! 🫠

I am so heartbroken by Smule, I sang on there for almost TEN YEARS before they recently started adding AI stuff to it. I’m sad to lose my following but I can’t stay on there consistently knowing this. If anyone has any other karaoke or singing apps please recommend them!

Lego content is so much to voice in! Check out this amazing video by Vainwoold on Youtube, the animators are insanely talented 16 year olds and I'm so impressed with their work! You can catch me as the voices of Emmett, Rex, The Villain and Spiderman! www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWIO...

Does anyone have any movie recommendations that are similar to ‘Your Name’? I’ve been on the lookout for more beautiful anime films like this one! (I’ve seen every Ghibli film for reference so I’m looking for new recs!)

Despite all this AI nonsense going on right now, I’m not giving up. Not as a voice actor, an artist, musician and writer. I’m far too passionate to be deterred by this, there’s nothing else I want to do with my life as much as this and we can’t give up!

Do you ever listen to an audition you did a few months ago and go “how the heck did that voice even come out of me?” 😂

It makes me so sad to go to places like Deviantart where I basically grew up as a young artist admiring everyone’s work, fanart or not, and now seeing it become this ‘Ai Art’ positive place… it’s really heartbreaking to me what it has become.

When @brookchalmersvo.bsky.social is in the director chair, you know you're going to learn. And have fun. Each and every time he's here, like clockwork, we learn and have fun. That consistency is one reason why Brook Chalmers is one of the best. Thank you for a wonderful session, Brook! 🙏❤️🥳

Perhaps it’s just my obvious disdain for AI in the arts but every time I hear that ‘AI’ voice in YouTube or anything I just can’t help but feel how much more engaged I’d have been if they had an actual VA talking or heck, even just trying their best with their own voice instead!

040

Conlin Rei @conlinrei.bsky.social · 12/03/2025

One thing I think that has helped me as a VA in not losing motivation is celebrating shortlists. Sure I might not make the final cut but it is SO flattering to know I even made it that far and that perhaps I wasn’t what they were exactly looking for, but the talent was there!

It’s truly exhausting to have to check if EVERY project I audition for nowadays isn’t going to try and AI clone my voice after a few weeks of work, literally 2 years ago this wasn’t even an issue. So tiresome.
