Lois is very cool. Well, she's not cool. She's a super dorky overworked shut-in corporate game developer. She grew on me a lot though, having serious qualms about office politics and just earnestly wanting to become a good friend.

Zaffer is the first person I talked to in Nivalis and I thought they were just going to be a goofball street punk graffiti artist. They are, but also wowza the voice acting sells this one. They called me "love" and I blushed with my actual face.

It's very easy to point to Disco Elysium and say 🤔 "yes, that's good writing" because it's smart and cynical. It felt much harder harder to explain why this game full of anime tropes and silly jokes is also excellent writing, actually. Hopefully I did justice to the depth and specificity of it.

So far in Paralives I've spent three nights entirely in Live Mode, despite the bugginess, and one night just playing with the photo mode. I've barely touched Build Mode yet, which is normally the only part of a life sim I feel motivated to play. Going to have so much to say about this next week.
