But here's the thing: you can't make this stuff in the US. Not unless the government decides to very very very heavily subsidize it. But they won't. That order above has 6 different PCBs in it. Two with minimal PCB. If I order just the one, no PCBA for the SOIC8 chip on it, it's $160.

I wish people would stop hyping up the S5 already I want to get one but I can't justify spending $350 on a 20 year old camera :( My S1 Pro still works at least 10/10 do recommend they aren't worth a lot but take fantastic images for a camera from 2000.

I also was not sure if the top card in the machine was going to be SCSI or another floppy interface, so grabbed another SCSI card for it. It'll probably be the one to actually live inside since it's got a 2.5" SCSI HDD spot on it. More to come later! Haven't tested machine yet :) .

Anyway, because this machine has a side keyboard connector and feet it can sit sideways like so! I made sure to grab a matching keyboard for vertical operation.

I'm not actually sure what all was intended to hook to the scanner interface here, I'd assume something along the lines of a GT-100V which usually included a cbus card with the same connector.

This machine also comes with a built in scanner interface.

Anyway, the CPU is a 16 MHz 386, downclockable to 10 or 6 MHz for compatibility reasons. Advanced Turbo you could say. The machine should have 640K RAM but I have not verified yet.

Now funny that, because this has 26K compatible sound onboard.
