A tax cap SOUNDS promising, but this one is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Once again, there are legislators in Concord who are putting profit over education - and over YOUR wallet. Vote no on HB 1300! #education #newhampshire

CFC OPPOSES HB 1300 SCHOOL TAX CAP
The public school system is the heartbeat of many communities, and the CFC is dedicated to supporting funding for education.
On 11/3, New Hampshire will see the HB 1300 school district local tax cap ballot question. We understand that times are tough and capping a tax sounds like it may provide much-needed relief to our working class neighbors. However, the prospect of capping property tax would likely serve to further de-fund and dismantle our schools.
Also - this ballot measure may even increase some homeowners' taxes. This tax cap takes away local control, giving the state full control of setting rates. All this while sacrificing resources for our teachers & children.
Our kids can't afford the potential for further budget cuts. New Hampshire schools are already behind neighboring states in education funding. We need to put our children first. That's why we're voting ‘NO’ on the HB 1300 school tax cap question.
