I am a hardcore Liberal who have walked with many Venezuelan on their journey to freedom. I have helped them. I know the Venezualan spirit & struggles. You are a tankie. Maria is the symbolic and rightful democratically President of Venezuela, but was disqualified. Edmundo and her are one.

And Edmundo Gonzalez was the proxy President since Maduro disqualified Maria with his sham courts. Lots of "Dems" are proving themselves to be tankies, unable to stand up to tyranny. Many Maduro apologists. The far left is a problem.

Like who? Venezuelans want their country back. Free from oppression and brutality. Why do you struggle with that?

There are really two different Whites in America. Those united behind universal principles and American values, and those anchored in racial identity and Confederate Culture. The Confederate Culture has held this country back, and turning it backwards.

Outside of valid concerns of our current admin, the Venezuelan situation does offer a quick solution. It is not Iraq. There are no power vacuums. The will of the Venezuelan people fully behind intervention and Maria Machado. Many in military do not support Maduro, outside higher ups. Almost.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 17/09/2025
Maduro is a fucking monster. Using the Trump admin as an indirect way and backdoor to support his illegitimacy and what he is doing to millions of Venezuelan is unethical. People asked about good reasons to remove Maduro, and I am listing them.

This is not about marriage, adoption, military service. I don’t even care, but right now 7 out of 10 Dems are not on board. I don’t think a Dem can run and win on this issue with lax border and gun control. I am open to your thoughts. Plus, shouldn’t you also persuade your beloved Maduro?

No where did I say that. I am standing up against Putin, Trump, white nationalism, and authoritarianism while the far left calls everyone a Nazi and chants Death to America. Dismantling USAID was horrifying. Why do you want the LGBTQ community to die? You are evil! Pure evil trash.
100
Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 10/03/2025
This is horrifying. USAID and American softpower is worthy of defending. Should be noncontroversial, but the far left is fucking more livid over this than RW authoritarians dismantling what we have. The USAID is New Deal Liberalism which many are opposed to & see it as evil.

Here is more too. This is horrific. Now show me any of these far left loons more angry and upset over this than Slotkin's speech and I will recant my position. When the far left is more upset over Slotkin's speech than MAGA unnecessarily putting lives of thousands at risk, it speaks volumes.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
USAID literally saves lives. And when far leftists loons are more upset over Slotkin's noncontroversial speech than MAGA shutting down US softpower that save lives, it proves my point. I do not take the far left seriously at all. Most do not vote and mostly internet warriors attacking Dems 24/7.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
Never thought about it like this. Coming from MA, that never crossed my mind. I would argue MA is most liberal state, but in the past 34 years Republicans were governors for 70% of the time. We kept our principles. Culture of corruption and loyalty, rather than principles like MA.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
USAID does NOT do that. Sheesh!!! People will die because this and you loons do not care. You are savages! www.npr.org/2025/02/07/n...

You can read it. It is clearly about Ukraine and siding with Putin, while also turning Canada into an enemy. There was also a lot more to the speech, but this is what the far left loons are angry about.

NAFTA's impact was relatively small. Neither the diehard fans or fervent opponents promises or fears came to fruition. As for the US, it was China's entry into the WTO that was more damaging. Trump is handing China victories all over now.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
I know you are a Canadian, but a minority who sides with Trump's foreign policy. I am not a Reagan fan. The man did a lot of damage and poisoned America in many ways. That is not debatable to me. I don't find controversy or anger in these words, especially contrasted to what MAGA is doing.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
It should be raised, but difficult. Dems did expand the EITC which is more effective than MW. Biden exerted his flex where he could. Lina Khan was amazing. Getting rid of noncompetes. Reagan would not side with Putin or call Zelensky a dictator while turning Canada into an enemy.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
It is Slotkin's speech which you are raging about....lol. You are just looking for arguments. LMAO...the level of absurdity and fake outrage by the far left. What do you think we are actually talking about?

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 08/03/2025
Calling Kamala a fascist? Sigh... Harris literally called out Trump on mass deportations and bigotry. She was constrained by the EC and American sentiments. What other alternative was there? Trump or Harris. Of course, I voted for Harris.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 08/03/2025
The outrage by the left over this than what MAGA is actually doing is not productive or helpful. Even some on the left are calling Western Liberalism and the New Deal (soft) Nazis. Sadly, we are no longer in the improvement stage, but preservation stage.

The welfare reform is a valid critique. Clinton and Gore started to wind down on federal employment with transparency and time that built up during the Reagan's year that focused on middle mgmt while giving unions more power. Smaller deficits and eventually surpluses. Good mgmt.

Replace Liberalism with what? A part of the rise of RW authoritarianism is Russia's propaganda war they have been waging on us for a long time with the RW echo chamher, combined with the aberration of Trump. I prefer Liberal Democracies over the US Right or Russia.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 08/03/2025
Slotkin when after Musk and DOGE. I don't believe FDR or JFK would be throwing the fit some on the left are. Noncontroversial speech. The left is more upset abt this, then Trump calling Zelensky a dictator & abandoning him & Europe as Putin undermines Western Liberalism. Speaks volumes, IMO.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 08/03/2025
I disagree. Hardly any praise but a small contrast while highlighting the perils of Trump’s foreign policy, which is horrific and unprecedented. The audience was largely Republican. Slotkin’s speech was overall fine. I’m not offended and much more concerned about current direction of the USA.

A "resounding praiser of Ronald Reagan" While it was not as bold as I like in the spirit of the New Deal, it was hardly a praiser of Reagan and I find no reason to take offense over, especially being more angry than what MAGA is doing.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 08/03/2025
Read the speech. It was not a "resounding praiser of Reagan"...sigh with hyperbole. One part that the rabid left is in hysterics over. This is what you guys are angry about. More angry than Putin and Trump rolling back the New Deal and Western Liberalism. www.cbsnews.com/news/transcr...

Look at the Nazi sympathizer American isolation would have led to a radically different world. And all these far lefties attack and undermined Harris. They are the white moderate Dr. King was referring too, setting back progress by generations. It is painful to watch lefties eat their own.

Typical RW talking points. The New Deal was pivotal in the creation of the middle class. We did not have a strong, vibrant middle class for the centuries before that. Once again, you show your true colors with your RW talking points and attacking Liberalism. origins.osu.edu/history-news...

This is what caused the anger. And the leftists who are angry over this most likely don't even vote (or vote third party). They are not mainstream. With everything going, I can't get angry over this. I share the sentiments of being alarmed by turning Canada into an enemy & friendly with Putin.

Point out her votes on some of Trump's appointments. But you are shifting gears because you were upset over this. I still find no reason to be offended. The far left would have also lost the Cold War as they are more upset over this than Putin and MAGA undermining the USA.

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 06/03/2025
This devolving into blaming the Clinton's only highlights my case. I am not finding outrage in Slotkin's speech. I don't think FDR, Truman, JFK, or Keynes would be taking the stances and anger some are. I have read the speech many times trying to be offended. Is this the cause of the rage?
000
Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 06/03/2025
The far left is angry at a particular set of words, found below. I am pissed at Dems too. I find them weak and doormats at times. I understand. But I am not going to undermine them with fake rage as MAGA and Putin undermine decades of Democratic legacy. And the far left is utterly useless.

I am asking you to support your claims. What Republican values did she espouse that you found upsetting? I am trying to understand. People are offended by these statements regarding Reagan (and was not about Reagan)? www.cbsnews.com/news/transcr...

Thomas Paine @commsense1776.bsky.social · 05/03/2025
FDR, Truman, Keynes, and JFK would be considered Republicans by today's far left. Please point out in the speech where she described herself as a "life-long Republican"? You are more upset about this than MAGA & Putin dismantling Western Liberalism. The far left are not allies.

First they "accidentally" cut funding for Ebola prevention. And now this...derp, derp. DOGE is proving how effective & efficient our federal government is. I certainly have my critiques, but never grew up hating my own gov't like Reagan taught generations of RWers.

Medical??? And Social Security is one of the most efficient system in the world. The bureaucratic costs of Social Security is far lower than any private entity could achieve. There is some overpayments happening in Medicare, but weighted towards Medicare Advantage, the privatized component.

I am losing my cultural identity of what it means to be an American. Painful and disillusioning. (I believe others feel the same way). This no longer about policy, but being reminded of what it means to be American. There is no Democratic leadership reminding us. Defending us. Protecting us.

This is incorrect. I am not excusing votes, but there is a huge misinformation bubble out there that needs to be combated. In blind taste tests policy, Harris outperforms and even among many Trump voters. Misinformed voters also voted Trump. Crazy!!! www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/int...

Elon Musk is literally make Americans turn on their own government. Most Republicans have little idea what USAID does and do, but they hate it because Elon and the RW media told them. It is astounding how simple they do it and how dumb the base is. They can't see what is happening.

America is appalling. I am sorry Canada. We are going to (economic) war with our nice neighbors over a non fentanyl issue while being juvenile and nasty. America is degrading itself. We are degrading our WWI and WWII soldiers and legacy. Throwing away our reputation.
