Posting something random but not continuing the chain
Gold cloisonne book cover from the Museum Kunstplast in Dusseldorf. The design is very ornate, with dark blue or green and red enamel accents on a gold embossed background, with two latches made of gold.

Yes it worked well to spread the colors of the crayons and even mixed them up a little as I spread the solution on with a Q tip.
Drawing of yellow daffodils on blue, violet and pink background, this time with some of the colors mixed or smeared together.

Here's a photo the fluid. Went to an estate sale with lots of old things, photographic equipment, craft supplies. I bought a bottle of photo retouching fluid for a quarter. Thought hey, it's cheap, I can experiment with it doing my crayon and watercolor thing, maybe it can help me spread color.
Bottle of Marshall's P.M. Solution. Label says :A prepared medium for precoating matte papers to facilitate coloring. Apply with cotton and rub down with dry cloth until all visible solution is removed. Also useful for removing color. Contents 3.75oz Manufactured Brooklyn NY.

Object lesson. Using a photo fluid I didn't quite understand on this crayon drawing.

Surprise laugh for the day, reading a podcast transcript which I won't link to here because I do not want to drive business to this woman running a perfume store where she talked about ruining perfume notes by rubbing, because that "presses molecules together". Oh for crying out loud.
The oils, I think you can (rub) because it's just the base note, but like an alcohol perfume, there's a top note, a middle note, a base note and you want it to go through the stages without messing with it.And when you press the molecules together it'll mess up the notes.

Post something random or you'll have an awful December.

You just died. The 6th picture in your phone gallery is what killed you.
Yellow dog poop bag (empty) wjth the words Made from corn on it, and partly obscured "biodegradeable" printed on it, with two small holes on it, probably a manufacturing defect. To my relief I didn't use it to pick up poop and saw the holes in time.

FYI people who use Macs, do NOT update to latest Sequoia because it will push so called Apple Intelligence which is dependent on garbagefull AI, thereby rendering Siri useless, so if you are dependent on Siri you will not be able to rely on it. UGH.
Shows text description of how to turn Apple Intelligence off coupled with Siri, and "Note: Apple Intelligence is currently in beta, Apple Intelligence uses generative models and outputs may be inaccurate, unexpected, or offensive. Check important information for accuracy."

This was an entry in a contest made by schoolkids. I saved this image because it encapsulates a mood perfectly. Anxiety, derpface, not exactly happy.

I found Susanna Clark's novel in a sale pile years ago and jumped at the chance, buying it outright even if I had no idea then just how good it was. This particular quote from the essay has me smiling, because now I know I wasn't alone imagining Bowie.
Clip from Adam's essay reads: "untimely-dead — back to life. Norrell does this by striking a deal with a powerful fairy, known only as ‘the Gentleman with the Thistle-Down Hair’ (basically, this character is David Bowie from Labyrinth). Lady Pole will be"

Poet Marne Kilates has died suddenly. He was a very kind man. When someone passes, their kindness remains, even more than their work. Here is his poem, Homecoming.
Homecoming.(by Marne Kilates) " Streets dream the many childhoods left/By sandaled grimy feel, the pebble tossed,/Dark wonders pried from the cleft/Of concrete, the games of voices lost./Houses and faces save only their age:/Fences tumble, roofs leak;words are growth/Of grass, pile of detritus, discarded rage/Of ache, omens of memory's creeping sloth./Strange town, do not deny me the home I seek,/Let no blank stare meet me at my next turn,/Nor rainy dusk nor burning sun forget my meek/Name unuttered by the stones.Do not spurn/My words dreaming streets, the hoard I keep/Of names and faces saved from sleep."

I have this gilt bracelet with a marking that looks like a K with an umlaut on top, or a stylized X with a colon or two dots next to it. The links are amphora shaped with a brushed gold finish.

Mourning pin. Guessing Edwardian because of T hinge on back and pin stem length. Not sure what the blue flowers are here but I have some good guesses for the pink and white and red flowers.
Gold framed mourning pin with rectangular black glass and handpainted flowers. Not sure what the flowers mean but they are pink roses, white wild roses probably and mystery blue flowers with white red and yellow marked centers.

I don't know who may need to hear this, but Trader Joe's Cornbread mix can be improved by using yogurt instead of milk and adding an egg(2 eggs total), and substituting 1/4 cup melted butter, in place of the single egg and 1/2 cup oil and 3/4 milk. The result will be richer and more flavorful.

Thoughts on a thread.
there's this thread on Twitter, called "the poet/the poem" where people post their photos and then one of their poems. I am alternately charmed then enraged, because it reminds me of the privilege of being visible, of wearing your name on your sleeve then posting the poem alongside. no, I cannot show you my face because I do not know what I truly look like. I only know my emotions about the images of me, which make me want to shirk all names and slink into the spaces between lines instead, to be sensed with the fingers of a mind instead of one's judging eyes.
