CN is very likely to go the way of Hanna-Barbera before them: a brand. Kids entertainment on cable/broadcast TV has been essentially done for years now and that was entirely a choice by these companies: Paramount, WB and Disney alike.

Of all the properties Disney has purchased over the years, this is by far the one they've constantly fumbled the bag on the most. Like, every time they try doing something with them they just shit the bed and whatever good idea they have is pushed out the door. It's the Muppet Show - make it.

I've always been of the opinion the Beatles should have one definitive biopic focusing on one era: The White Album. After Get Back my dream was to see Peter Jackson direct it. I'm saving judgement on this until it's out. I do think the 4-movie concept is ambitious.

This entire situation has been one pie in the face after another both for fans and for Paramount

Infuriating as a lifelong Playstation fanboy. I would not be shocked if this coupled with rising prices causes a second video game crash.

The film (and franchise as a whole) is far from Pixar's best but most need to admit it had (has?) one of the best toy lines for any animated movie ever.

When Phil Collins wrote the theme to the movie "Against All Odds," he was urged by the movie producer to use its title in the lyrics, Phil insisted it sounded wrong and wanted to use "against the odds." He gave in and sang "against all odds" but only in the final chorus. I love this decision, genius

I'm man enough to confess that when I was maybe 12 I wanted to make a YouTube Poop called "Gary Takes a Mama Luigi". I planned literally every "joke" and it was the usual spaghetti dinner YTP fare for the time. Only problem is I had no video editing skills and never will.

We're seriously trying this AGAIN?! Ever since Nick purchased this franchise they can't stick to a singular face for the brand. The 2012 iteration is my personal favorite, and they still have merch for that as well as the iconic 80's version. This will fail like the 2014 film did.

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

Season 36 is... decent?! Yeah, this is the best season score-wise since Season 15. Despite a few bad ones, there's a lot of fun ideas and great episodes that keep this afloat, perhaps in due to this having the most non-canon episodes by far. Best: Bart's Birthday Worst: Desperately Seeking Lisa

110

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E22: Estranger Things The season finale is a great one! I love the Bart and Lisa dynamic present, the depiction of the future is more measured, and I love the parody of When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2. Also a change of pace with Marge dead instead of Homer. Non-Canon Count: 29 8/10

010

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E21: Full Heart, Empty Pool Boring. I do like episodes where Homer isn't being a complete jerk to his dad, but what we get is a lame sports episode that at points tries to be a parody of Challengers. They should have gone all in on the latter concept. 4/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E20: Stew Lies So the first five minutes are about this great Bart and Lisa plot but then it just gets... abandoned? Like, never mentioned again and it's frustrating they gave up on it. The rest of the episode is solid since I love Fat Tony but I wish the first part was the whole thing. 6/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E19: Abe League of Their Moe Try saying that title parody three times fast. This episode is sort of frustrating because it's a unique team-up but the interesting part doesn't happen until it becomes about sports gambling. Other than that there's nothing going here. 5/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

I should mention this marathon will end once I'm done with what's currently on Disney Plus as I need a long break after trying to catch up with the current season.

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E18*: Yellow Planet This one definitely feels mandated by Disney. I was pretty blank-faced throughout this because it's just Simpsons characters as animals. Nothing special, but some of their designs are clever and there's some nice scenery. This ends tomorrow! Non-Canon Count: 28 5/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E17: P.S., I Hate You A fairly well-written episode. I think my main complaint here is I wish the mystery of who took the letters was prolonged for a while longer. The chase scene between Marge and Shauna is pretty good, plus the ending is nice. There was one joke that busted my gut. 7/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

S36E16: The Last Man Expanding So this is commentary on the recent surge of weight loss drugs but boy is this episode so surface level. On top of South Park doing this concept way better (ironic), the thin character models are just so dang uncanny. They also say "Ok Boomer" five years late. 4/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 20/11/2025

S36E15: The Flandshees of Innersimpson This was such a pleasant surprise! I like how they explored Homer and Ned's rivalry, and the way Ned finally snaps is brilliant and isn't just a repeat of Hurricane Neddy. Plus the episode is really funny, and the resolution works well. 9/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 20/11/2025

S36E14*: The Past and the Furious So I definitely love the 1920's aesthetic and soundtrack. The main plot with Lisa being able to go back in time and meet the old Mr. Burns has potential, but I would have preferred an episode fully in the past about Burns. Non-Canon Count: 27 6/10

000

Commonscout @commonscout.bsky.social · 20/11/2025

S36E13: Bottle Episode Okay, that's a clever title. Anyways, this is a fun one, albeit flawed. Having Marge kickstart the problem by screwing up is a nice change of pace, the dynamic she has with Smithers is underrated, and the Robin Hood scenes are eye candy. Not great, but still fun. 7/10
