In the UK, politicians have advocated our withdrawal from the ECHR for the last decade. Across the pond, we are rapidly finding the limits to habeus corpus - where obscure reference to ‘rebellion’ and ‘invasion’ from another century might, yet, facilitate a suspension of justice (as we know it).
