What are your most interesting twists/ideas? What’s working well? (But don’t tell me anything i shouldn’t steal!)

Yeah, this is our standard approach throughout exe. But just when I want the agents to cargo cult they innovate instead. 😆

Chatting on the phone in the front yard. My partner drives up. The car steals my audio. Suddenly, I have radio silence and my partner is unexpectedly mid-conversation with a stranger. Dear Apple. Please. Stop the audio routing madness. Please. Please?

ETOOMANYTHINGS: Running a bunch of agents at once to hide latency trashes your flow state. Here's what we're trying instead: blog.exe.dev/etoomanythings

Spinning up more agents to hide latency wrecks your attention. Fix the human-agent loop instead.

I use many harnesses, regularly. I just happen to have been in a codex cli habit recently. But also this is me screaming into the void. AI labs have speed run everything, including now enshittification.

And yeah, longstanding problem. I’m just exasperated because the savants in question keep re-introducing this, over and over. The downside, I suppose, to RL runs that don’t include test stability in their scoring function?

Yes but then ipv6. I did this for a while with ipv4 because reasons, but setting up new interfaces reliably across platforms and keeping them running proved to be too painful.

Dear silicon overlords, this is a guaranteed path to flaky tests: - ask for an available port with :0 - close it - listen on it, assuming it'll still be free a moment later Yes, it's annoying to inspect and propagate ports. But flaky tests are even more annoying.

New models, new terrible renditions of Bella Ciao. bella-ciao.exe.xyz Luna 6 is pleasant, but…a totally different song. Sol 6 is bog standard. Opus 5.5 is whiny and tinny, even by synth standards.

I just banged out mayfly.chat. It's intended to spare copy/pasting when you just need two agents to talk to each other directly, but in a pinch, you could also use it to communicate with your own agents...

Before, there was a man for every three hexagons. Suicide and pulmonary diseases have destroyed that proportion. A memory of unspeakable melancholy: at times I have traveled for many nights through corridors and along polished stairways without finding a single librarian.

I had not, thanks. Although I think I've internalized all of that already. FWIW, on my latest re-read of the Library of Babel, particularly in light of Terence Tao's recent comments, this was the passage that leapt out at me:

I find this thread to be the more interesting one: mathstodon.xyz/@tao/1172373... Sounds (superficially?) like the mathematicians' version of the modern security team's dilemma: the value has moved from discovery to curation. Borges' Library of Babel has never felt more relevant.

Audit each upgrade's source diff (parallel subagents for a batch; hand them [analysis-brief.md](analysis-brief.md)), then apply, verify, commit, report. The primary agent owns the integration and the final verdicts.

Every upgraded line of third-party code might get compiled into our binaries, so every upgraded line must be audited. Supply-chain attacks come from anywhere, including tiny patch bumps of boring libraries. There is no "low-risk" tier.
