An adaptation that deliberately refuses to adapt is not a shield to criticism but a criticism in it of itself. The argument is that the whole grounded premise adds nothing but a pretense of maturity, like a child using a swear word to try to sound grown-up without knowing its meaning.

Have you read 90s Lanterns and HTH? It still has more weird imaginative insane crap that any live action comic adaptation. If they wanted a grounded alien detective story grab Martian Manhunter, or just Manhunter, the thanagarian Hawks, there are so many more apt for the role than the Lanterns

I say "was" because we have come a long way in the last couple of years. The genre is allowed to be dark, but also fun, and mind-bending, and zany, and thought-provoking. Yet one can find those for whom Watchmen is still a crutch, the one and only guide, or have everything else as the lesser form

My problem with Watchmen is/was the same problem that Alan Moore has with Watchmen:

I don’t think that the world needs that many brooding psychopathic avengers. I don’t know that we need any. It was a disappointment to me, how Watchmen was absorbed into the mainstream. It had originally been meant as an indication of what people could do that was new. I’d originally thought that with works like Watchmen and Marvelman, I’d be able to say, “Look, this is what you can do with these stale old concepts. You can turn them on their heads. You can really wake them up. Don’t be so limited in your thinking. Use your imagination.” And, I was naively hoping that there’d be a rush of fresh and original work by people coming up with their own. But, as I said, it was meant to be something that would liberate comics. Instead, it became this massive stumbling block that comics can’t even really seem to get around to this day. They’ve lost a lot of their original innocence, and they can’t get that back. And, they’re stuck, it seems, in this kind of depressive ghetto of grimness and psychosis. I’m not too proud of being the author of that regrettable trend.

Rogue was Titania, Juggernaut was Leviathan, Morph was Chameleon, Nightcrawler was Nocturne sometimes and others Shadow, and Sabretooth was Leonidas. Hasta ahora, en los créditos de los tráiler de personaje, ninguno de los otros X-Men repitió actor de doblaje. De hecho, de los que note, la mayoría nunca hicieron a los personajes antes de este juego (Salvo el de Spider-Man que le hizo a Peter B. en las pelis de Spider-Verse)

También esta eso, la definición de "Callejero", porque muchas veces se remite a que héroe se enfrentan. Spider-Man es referido como un "street-level" pero tiene cosas como Lizard y Electro Flash es uno de los mas poderosos de DC, pero los Rogues en su mayoria son criminales comunes con tecnologia

(por mas que Gorr solo tuvo una historia, también una película) Mr Freeze era "Capitan Cold pero aburrido" que habían matado como una nota al pie en los comics hasta que Batman TAS le dio su vuelta

I'm convinced that Dracula and Fisk will be playable in a future season, as they have full models and moves, just juiced-up for PvE Following the lore, I'm convinced that Gorr will be next. Doom also has a model and probably be playable once he finishes his time as the mastermind behind the scenes.

Those things aren't mutually exclusive. Also... where are these "canon-following comics" that I keep hearing about on socials? Isn´t the most common approach to discard what previous authors established in order to "create their own thing," only to retread the ground because of that same dismissal?
