But John already has trauma in the comics. His father was distant or a straight up ass (depending on the comic)

If The Orville could do stuff like this, I see no reason why Lanterns couldn't have had a couple of actual aliens and given Sinestro better makeup. They really let Seth MacFarlane outdo them.

Also given him his yellow eyes, made his ears more noticeable, and lit his scenes better so his makeup looked better.

I'm now on the fourth episode of Lanterns. Really not a fan of Sinestro's look. He just looks like a normal guy with a sunburn.

Thanks for the artshare! I'm Rosie Amy. I mainly draw my own characters that I'm currently writing comics about (working with another artist to get one drawn) I'm open for commissions and I'm pretty cheap. (Also, my bday is next Tuesday and I could use more money) bsky.app/profile/comi...

THANK YOU CÉLIA FOR THE ARTSHARE!!! Hi, I'm Alex the Ahsum! I do mostly a lot of digital fan art and some OC stuff, I'm really into comic books you'll see, and I say some dumb stuff all the time!

Digital fanart full body of the character Green Lantern, Alan Scott, from DC Comics, Soaring through the night sky engulfed green flames, wearing red boots with gold details, red long sleeved collared shirt with an emblen center of his chess of a green lantern, green pants with a tall belt, a purple cape with a tall collar, green inner lining, and gold chain, a purple mask with white out lenses, and of course his iconic ring!

Long before the Dark Knight, if you were to set your sight to the skies of Gotham, on the blackest nights or even in the brightest days, you would see the mighty emerald light of… THE GREEN LANTERN!

Digital fan art of Marvel Comics character ICEMAN, Bobby Drake, an X-Men sliding across a swirling ice bridge, being made by his power in Bizzard. A man made of ice with chunks sticking out wearing sleeve-less black and blue leotard, with an X badge on his left pec!

Digital fan art and my fan design of a full body of Storm, Ororo Munroe, with a Symbiote, character from Marvel Comics! flying in cloudy lightning filled sky reaching out electricity crackling in their hands
Mohawk of blueish silver tendrils with one golden one, the body and head are blueish silver but filled with black bubble (Kirby Krackle) in like a way the doesn't make sense in 3D space, the face is made of lightning shapes of yellow light, golden veins across the body, and cape that connects to the wrists.

Digital fanart of a half body of Tony Tony Chopper's Monster Point (Pre-Time Skip) from One Piece off to the side screaming into the darkness with back lighting

Heyyyy, 'sup, doing good in these parts? I'm sure the art down here is bound to cheer you up regardless so have a gander, partner (why am I talking like this). Okay, intro, right, hi! I'm Célia, I specialise in character illustration and dabble in comics and animation ✏️ Now peruse the art! 💫

Painting of a cervid skeleton holding up strings which link back to a human. The strings make the human character act like a puppet. The piece is depicted in shades of dark sepia

Illustration of the Pokémon Unfezant with a human character next to them sitting in front of a campfire in the middle of the woods. The artwork is monochromatic with different shades of purple.

Painting of an anthropomorphic giraffe character writing in a notebook. The piece is set in a train, you can see the reflection of the giraffe in the window. The illustration has brown, purple and green hues.

Painted portrait of Sariel from Ikemen Prince with a snake wrapped around his shoulders. The snake has gold and black scales with orange eyes. A streak of light illuminates the bottom of Sariel's face. A blue fog comes from the bottom of the picture.

Also, this is more of a nitpick, but why change the names of John's parents? They're Shirley and Henry in the comics. Also, I guess John's little sister Ellie just doesn't exist here. Whatever.

030

Rosie Amy 🏳️‍⚧️ @comicsamy.bsky.social · 5h

Oh, I do not like this take on John's origin. Even for the story they're telling, I think his dad being an ass would've been enough. Did they really have to write his mum that way? And boy, does this show really like to cheap out on the actual sci-fi elements.

I'm on the third episode of Lanterns. Not really a fan of them changing how Green Lanterns are chosen. The rings don't choose people for being inherently fearless, they choose people who have the strength to overcome fear. And yes, there's a difference.
