Spidey has been my favorite since I was 3, a long, long time ago. So yeah, I knew I'd be going big on the monumental Amazing #SpiderMan #1000!

Other than #111, these are all low hanging fruit...but I'll take it! 47 to go! #ASMOriginalVolumeOneCountdown #Spiderman

Comic gods were smiling upon you for it to still look so good!

Definitely. Prices will probably go up a bit until after Secret Wars but I could always get lucky.

Album Comics was my favorite comics shop in Paris--also on Rue Dante. Loved the giant Batman hanging from the ceiling. I didn't want to risk a big buy for fear of damage during my travels. But I did find some undamaged Ab Bat #20 1st prints & a few more harder to find new books to flip in the US.🤞

During my family trip Europe last month I was happy to discover Rue Dante in Paris--a street with many comic & manga shops. Pulp's Comics was one of the better stores I checked out. #comics #comicsky

I thought I'd have some fun and buy a couple of Terminal blind bags, try to get a cool variant of #1. Ended up with advance copies of #7 and #10. Returned to LCS and just bought a #1 Cover A. 😜 #comicsky #comics

No, seriously, was I only dreaming that Mr. Negative was supposed to be a major villain in BND? #SpiderMan #BrandNewDay

I did not expect to be so won over by Berthal's Punisher--DEFINITELY did not expect my 16yo daughter to love Frank Castle so much! Sadie Sink has served notice. She's going to be a powerhouse in the future of the MCU. Characters I was certain were in the film were no-shows--did Marvel fake us out?

Comic Book Memories @comicmemories.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

It also FELT like a comic book (a very good thing imo) moreso than any Spidey movie since Raimi--and I rank this film just below that trilogy in terms of the overall Spidey filmography. I wish the classic cover recreations had been more of a surprise but they were still very fun.

Just saw Brand New Day. Reactions below..... BND is the best of the Holland Spidey movies and for me it's not even close. The MCU finally figured out how to do a real Spider-Man movie. Peter's isolation caused by the NWH's mindwipe spell coaxed TH's first truly convincing portrayal of our hero.

My copy of this issue has been without a cover for like 40 years so I actually forgot this is what it looks like lol. It's a pretty good cover!

Rumors of Anne Hathaway turning down Black Cat in BND interesting b/c: 1. AH was Raimi choice for BC for his SM 4. 2. 14 yr gap w/ TH but looks more b/c of his boyish looks...so no sex chem/sexy banter? But that's what makes BC fun. 3. AH as both DC & Marvel feline fatales would've been epic.

I also did something I've never done before: flipped a new book I paid 4.99 for on Wednesday and sold it for $50 on Saturday. Just crazy. If you follow the new releases every week, you probably can guess which book that was.

Still 2 weeks to check out the "Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing" Exhibition at Chicago's Griffin Museum of Science + Industry. Ends Feb 8! Besides many cool exhibits (see earlier posts), there is also an ENTIRE museum shop devoted solely to Spidey merch. I dreamed of this as a kid! #SpiderMan

Another cool feature at the "Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing" exhibit at Griffin Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago: A typewritten first page of the script for ASM #82 (published in 1969 & one of the first Spidey comics I ever bought as a very young kid)--with handwritten edits by Stan. #SpiderMan

Finally made it to the Griffin Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago to check out the "Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing" exhibit. Something for Spidey fans of all ages and the crowd reflected that. The biggest highlight for me? Getting to see this in person for the first time ever! #SpiderMan
