🍽 #Columbus had never seen anything like the Jai Lai Restaurant (1933 - 1996), with a seating capacity of 1,070 people.  Private party rooms were available for 15 to 450. Ample parking provided, either self service or attended.

Shrum Mound, a Native American burial mound in Campbell Memorial Park on the west side of #Columbus.  The mound was created by the Adena culture, a Pre-Columbian Native American culture that existed from 500 BCE to 100 CE.

The intersection of Broad and High in downtown #Columbus as it looked in the 1950's. Looming over everything is the Deshler Hilton Hotel sitting atop Gray Drug Store. The Deshler Hotel was built in 1916 and was considered one of the top hotels in the Midwest.

🏥 A much smaller #Columbus Children's Hospital complex, as it looked in 1978. Children's Hospital's name was later changed to Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2007 after a $50 million donation by the insurance company.

#Columbus State Hospital, also known as Ohio State Hospital for Insane, was a public psychiatric hospital in Columbus, located on the west side on W. Broad St. and pictured here as it looked around 1900. The facility operated all the way into the late 1980's.

🌍 The Avenue of Flags, along Civic Center Drive and the riverfront in downtown #Columbus, as it looked in the late 1960's. The Avenue of Flags showed off all 50 state flags and was dedicated on Columbus Day in 1967. The flags were replaced in 2002 with 25 Ohio flags and 25 Columbus flags.
