While this grant is only for a conceptual study, this will make it possible to apply for future funding to do more detailed design/construction work. The City of Westfield recently won a MassTrails grant of $73,500 to conduct a feasibility study of a new shared-use path along the Little River Levee, connecting the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail to the Westfield Middle School, Boys & Girls Club, and the neighborhoods along South Maple St!

No change; there's a buffered bike lane on E Main St from roughly Mainline Dr to Little River Rd but it ends there and the new ones don't pick up again until just beyond E Mountain Rd. There are no bike lanes on Main St at all (between downtown and Mainline Dr).

We were thrilled to work with employees of ProAmpac on their Volunteer Day to do some clean up along the Westfield River Esplanade! About ten volunteers did a lot of weeding and cleared other overgrowth in the new pollinator gardens (formerly the bocce courts) and near our commemorative bricks.
