@teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social After two failed trips to look for the Night-herons at Bolton-on-Swale, it’s time to ask for help. Firstly- have I been going to the right bird hide (the one by the little car park-shown here)? Next - whereabouts is the roost in relation to the hide?

@teesbirds.bsky.social Loads of geese in the field opposite Macklin Avenue as it’s starting to get dark this evening. At least 34 White-fronts, 4 Tundra Beans and three Pink-feet plus 30-odd Greylags

@teesbirds.bsky.social @teeswildlife.bsky.social We’ve got a wildflower walk at Middle Marsh on Sunday (10-12) led by brilliant local botanist Martin Allen. It promises to be really good. Click on the attached link for details and to book www.eventbrite.com/e/wildflower...

I think that’s over-simplifying it Mark. It’s not just about making ourselves feel better. Feeding really helps birds survive lean times. We need to learn from mistakes - by changing how we feed birds, by cleaning our feeders muuuuch more frequently and by gardening to provide more ‘natural’ food
