~3000 lines touched later, and this stupid MoreF3 iteration is probably completed! All that to show a little energy number LOL www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mod… (i drafted this post last night and forgot to submit)
Notification within IntelliJ IDEA, with the message:
100 files committed
3.0.0 - Add energy inspection, test mod, inspection framework, further platform abstractionsTwo Minecraft windows showing the player looking at a "battery" block, with the block's energy values displayed in the corner of the screen as part of the F3/debug menu. There's a fun pixel art build of the game windows' respective mod loader logos in the background of both.

Putting this LLM (Codex in particular) in IDEA thing to work. Shout my pain into the void -> get feedback and maybe a to-do list entry! Pretty handy.
A screenshot showing two different windows on my desktop. On the left is the reminders app, showing various entries in my moref3 project's to-do list.
On the right is part of my IntelliJ IDEA window with the "AI Chat" tab open. There's a message that reads, "Yes. I’m going to add the obvious, actionable ones to the moref3 Reminders list now, keeping them short," followed by a prompt to run the osascript command to add those entries.

The entries in the list, including the ones added by the LLM, follow here:
- fix forge
- fix fabric after forge changes inevitably break it
- (3.1.0+) expose api for other mods to use
- Clear serverFeatures on client disconnect
- Implement NeoForge canSend for config payload advertisement
- Wire ForgeClientEvents singleton before MoreF3Client setup
- Implement NeoForge client config/play payload handlers
- Implement NeoForge client message filtering hook
- Replace generic function types with named @FunctionalInterface types

There's these really big flies that have appeared in my home, and one of them let me get close enough to take this photo of it.
Close-up (from about 2" away) photo of some kind of fly, taken with an iPhone 17 on 2x zoom.

Hear me out.
The April Fools' version of the Kagi homepage, but it's been given a little modernization love. It draws some inspiration from iGoogle.

I've figured out how to make the Apple Music app in macOS 26 better.
macOS 26 Music appmacOS 26 Music app, but I've made the sidebar not-floating, and moved the floating now-playing bit to the top to create a top bar. Overall, it resembles the macOS 15 Music app. (Though it still looks a bit off thanks to the sidebar floating over the main window, rather than coming out behind it.)

I've got a bad habit of making enormous commits, but at least things are technically tracked in Git? I guess I have difficulty committing code that doesn't build properly.

Comic Sans MS in a NHTSA investigation document. Not unexpected, but entertaining.
NASA Engineering and Safety Center Technical Assessment Report, Version 1.0, page 56 of 134, titled "National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Toyota Unintended Acceleration Investigation - Appendix A". Diagram shows a system with sensors connected to a GCPR component, which feeds into a mainCPU Controller. Inside the controller, a CPU with software performs a 4msec Task that reads from GCPR Registers (steps 1 and 2) and writes to a State block (step 3). The State block includes data for Stop Lamp and Shift Pos. A dashed-line box labeled "Others" indicates additional processes that perform 'n. read' operations on the State block. The diagram illustrates a data flow and processing sequence within a vehicle's electronic control system.

Thinking about UI design stuff
Step 1: Conceptualize — When designing new icons, sketch ideas with pen and paper. Example: a hand-drawn sketch for the Windows XP My Pictures icon: [photo of sketch depicting a photograph of mountains partially inserted into an open folder]

I wanted to make a Notion page, but now I've roped myself into learning how this OpenAI API works.
A search interface with tabs labeled "Emoji," "Icons," and "Upload," with "Emoji" selected. A search bar contains the text "moose" and displays a magnifying glass icon on the left and a clear (X) button on the right. To the right of the search bar are two buttons: one with a shuffle icon and another showing a waving hand emoji. Below the search bar, the message "No results" is displayed, followed by a button labeled "+ Add emoji." Above the interface, a large red question mark is visible in the center. The background is white.

I don't understand why almost none of these AI things chaining actions don't read in user messages until after the current thing has finished running. Either way, I'm surprised she didn't try the "stop" command.
A dark-themed interface displaying a list of commands with green circular icons containing the letter "K". The commands listed include "/usage" for viewing usage footer or cost summary, "/stop" for stopping the current run (highlighted in blue, indicating selection), "/restart" for restarting OpenClaw, and "/activation" partially visible at the bottom. Each command has a brief description next to it.

quick and easy in that little shield menu
Search results page for "pinterest" showing 14 results from external indexes, with the top result being Pinterest (pinterest.com) described as a site to discover recipes, home ideas, style inspiration, and other ideas. The result includes links for Log In, Craft Ideas, Everything on Pinterest, and Ideas. A green pop-up menu for Pinterest is open on the right, displaying options to adjust the site's ranking: a circular "no" icon removes the site from results, a shield-down icon lowers its ranking, a shield-up icon raises its ranking, and a star icon ensures it always appears at the top of results. The pop-up also includes links to report the page as AI-generated and a general "Report" button. Below, information about the site shows 1 ad/tracker, website popularity as #23 by traffic, tracker category as Advertising, and HTTPS connection. Red arrows and labels explain the function of the icon buttons.

How about no? There's already 20 ads on-screen before this popup.
Popup dialog with a photo of a man in a beige blazer and black turtleneck. Text reads: "Unlock more content. Take action to continue accessing the content on this site." Two options: "View a short ad — Site-wide access for 24 hours" with a blue play button icon, and "Subscribe to our newsletter — Site-wide access for 24 hours" with a right-pointing arrow icon. A close button (X) is in the top-right corner.

Made a mockup of a vague "NixOS for the masses" idea floating in my head. Made this with Penpot; It's interesting, but slow to work with.
"System Setup" window made to look like the Windows XP Control Panel. On the left, a navigation pane shows "System Setup" selected with a checkmark icon, "View Configuration Files" with a folder icon, and "See Also" with "Sharing Setup" and a globe icon. On the right, under the heading "Pick a computer," three options are listed with icons: "All Computers" with a monitor icon and description "Shared default configuration," "Tahoma" with a desktop tower icon and description "Home Workstation," and "Cowlitz" with a laptop icon and description "Work Laptop."

This is unreasonably cool, man. I sold a thing I made through a computer, put it in a box, and stuck it in the mail. In exchange I get money.

In other news, I made a pretty slick (in my opinion) toast message thing as part of this. It *should* be self-contained. Added with either <script> or imported via JS, it'll automatically be added to the DOM and be available as globalThis.toaster. + There's a nice slide-in-from-bottom animation :)

It took longer than it should have, but with the power of Web Tiles, you can now click a button to put your badges of ATProto apps into ATProto! AT-ception! ( Requested by @alex.mcroberts.me ) I implemented OAuth myself, succeeded, then used atcute anyways. As always: colddark.world/tools/badger...

I made a fun code generator thing that detects NSIDs in a user's repo and produces static HTML of buttons linking to respective apps. I've gone and used it for my own site already! Check it out here, if you'd like: colddark.world/tools/badger...
Badger
Provide your ATProto handle/DID, and you'll get static HTML you can copy-paste for a neat set of buttons for services detected. The resulting container will have the class badger-outer, and the text being badger-label.
(I personally don't recommend hiding the text.)

If there's anything LLMs are good for, it's turning natural language into reports.
Me to Claude: GMC apparently never got the shipping weights from Shopify, could you please get me a table of each variant and its respective total shipping weight?

Claude:
*Devised GraphQL strategy to extract variant shipping weights
I'll help you get the shipping weights for all your product variants from Shopify. Let me query that information.

*Organized weight data across variants into formatted table
Here's a table of all your product variants and their shipping weights:
