I’ve not been in it (if one I’m thinking of) in a long time. But my cousin has a flat not to far away. Was down visiting recently and walked past it with my daughter. Well past a repeat visit.

Current state of fire at Glenmore/Abernethy area. Significant loss of habitat & related ecosystems will take decades to recover. BBC coverage utter shite. Imagine if this in the Cotswolds or New Forest I suspect very different coverage. Governments need to pull their fingers out re response.
Screen shot from https://firemap.live/ shows current extent of the ongoing fire at Glenmore/Abernethy showing the dignitary area currently affected and burning.

Sometimes you just need to lay on your back and look up at a tree. If you’ve never done it I’d recommend it. Very calming.
Photos shows the view looking up into a tree with the limbs of the trees and leaves with dappled sunlight and small patches of sky showing thorough them.

My grandfather landed with the 51st Highland Division shortly after D-Day. He was a veteran of El Alamein, and Sicily. The role of the 51st Highland Division in the landing was as a second echelon division to support and fill in behind the first wave.

Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!

Lovely day down in Sma Glen for this years Community of Practice Workshop for Mountain Training Scotland Providers, Trainers, Assessors and Tutors. We spent the day looking at the Hazards and Emergency Procedures section of the syllabus. Stunning weather and great input from everyone.
Event participants scoping out a section of steep ground. Lovely warm day with blue skies. Participant ascending short rick outcrop whilst being observed by three others. Wide angle view showing group setting up three different rope systems for safeguarding a group member. Group assembled in a semi circle discussing emergency procedures.

Lomond Mountain Rescue Team training day. Due to lack of winter we’d a revised training plan for the day which involved looking at options for escorting a ‘stuck’ but mobile person from ‘irregular ‘ terrain.

For those contemplating some wild camping this spring. One - don’t get your ideas from AI. Two - follow the SOAC www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/doc/guidance... and any local fire safety warnings.

A rather depressing view of the Northern Corries of Am Monadh Ruadh. I can’t recall when I’ve seen the hill so devoid of snow at this time of year. Here’s hoping (and there are signs!) it’ll come back. #KeepTheFaith #Winter
A late afternoon photo with a fine alpen glow of the northern coire of Braeriach devoid of snow except for some very sparse patches. A late afternoon photo with a fine alpen glow of the Lairig Ghru again devoid of snow except for some very sparse patches. Visiting a Neolithic hunter’s camp this morning. Had moss bites and bone with some raw meat for breakfast. Yum…

A wee ascent of the classic Zero Gully on #BenNevis. The zoomed out shot shows me and ma buddy on the 4th pitch. The closer zoomed in one shows me leading up the crux. Whilst the last one is me moving out from the wee cave at the crux. #Coldclimbs #Winter #Climbing
Image taken from a distance showing two climbers on Zero Gully on Ben Nevis. They are high up the climb which is set amongst the snow and ice covered rocks of the north face of Ben Nevis with blue sky above.A more zoomed on close up the previous picture. It shows a diagonal gully of snow and ice running up to the top left of the picture, with steep snow covered rock to the right. One climber is belaying the other, who is leading up some steep ice/snow and has stopped to place some gear. This is a close up of the lead climber clad in blue trousers and a red jacket with a yellow rucsac leading up up a steep section of snow and cie. The phot shows the climber swinging their left ice tool in the act of placing the ice axe in the ice. Blue skies behind.

Some pics to brighten up this sparse account! Some pics from an extended climbing trip to Colorado a long while back.
Climber in orange and blue suit lead climbing a white ice fall climb called The Drool - in the sun with the climb contrasting against the red sandstone rock. The exit at the top was a tad spicy as the ice became really, like really thin...Climber in dark clothing on an ice climb called Route 66 near Silverton. The climber is seconding the climb and just exited onto easier terrain. behind is an exposed view of the snow covered trees in the valley.Image is looking up at a climber in orange and blue suit leading the crux pitch of Ames House House. The climber is bridged across some featured ice and is placing an ice screw.View is taken looking across a rock cliff. On it there is a climber in an orange and blue suit leading up a narrow streak of ice and heading onto thicker ice just up and to their left. Behind there are grey skies and in the distance some mountains with very sparse snow cover.
