I just caught a scammer who was scamming the elderly and laundering the money through Steam and EA gift cards, so I’m glad my video game knowledge pulled through at my job.

Loved all the nods to the Insomniac Spider-Man games in Brand New Day. I have yet to play Spider-Man 2. I hope it doesn’t give me motion sickness as badly as the remastered RDR did. :/ (I mean, I was fine with Spidey 1 and Miles Morales.)

The mind is willing to play Red Dead Redemption, but it’s day 3 and I still get motion sickness even if I take meds for it. 😩

Brother is planning to meet me in Tokyo. I told him he could fly ahead before I get to Tokyo. He was like, “I’ll just be there for the week you’re there.” He just filed his leave at work, and his supervisor scolded him for not staying in Tokyo long enough. 😂😂

Booked my Japan flights and accidentally booked during the GTA VI release*, which means I have to file my leave ASAP. I have a feeling many co-workers do intend to take the day off when GTA VI is released lol. * unless it’s inevitably delayed again

Met up with some old classmates for Sunday lunch, both of them have kids. I just went for a bathroom break, and when I got back, they’re both like, “Don’t have kids.”

Do I really have to get off the Internet if I want to avoid any leaks of Persona 6 or any hyped video games for that matter? Call me old-fashioned, but I want to be totally surprised on day 1.

000

coldbluestar.bsky.social @coldbluestar.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

Pivoting my solo trip to Japan now because all I really want is to eat hitsumabushi and buy Akihiko merch. ...That's it. That's the extent of my trip planning.

No video games, TV series, books, or movies in my queue. I get to do an hour of yoga today, and then what else should I do? I think I will write badly again, like write-for-myself, unpublishable quality kind of stuff.

Good news: OMG I actually have a fic idea?!?? Bad news: It is not AkiMitsu, but they are still my #1 and I am going to find a way to write about adult/post-canon AkiMitsu in my lifetime.

I am crap at brawler type games, so I am surprised I am enjoying the heck out of Survival Hell in Dark Ties…so far. Until it ramps up in difficulty that I can’t handle it anymore. I somehow finished all of Kiryu’s Coliseum fights and Bad Boy Dragon in Kiwami 3 on standard difficulty.

Yakuza 0 callback to when Kiryu also says this lol. (Also, my type is murderous, needy orphans, which why I also like Goro Akechi.)

It is seriously looking like a snow globe out my window. Snowing non-stop all morning. Very thankful I get to work from home when a lot of people can’t.

000

coldbluestar.bsky.social @coldbluestar.bsky.social · 09/01/2026

I really genuinely loved Expedition 33 except for the gameplay, but maybe I should give it another shot when I am in the right frame of mind. Also might be worth experiencing everything from the start now that I finally know the deal.

000

coldbluestar.bsky.social @coldbluestar.bsky.social · 05/01/2026

As much I see the Persona tributes in Expedition 33 (Red haired fencer party member? Coincidence?), I had to DNF it as my loan was due, and the gameplay never grew on me. I am NOT that kind of gamer, I suppose, and a mini-map is non-negotiable.

010

coldbluestar.bsky.social @coldbluestar.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

Expedition 33 can get dark and heavy real quick, so I’ve been staying sane by switching to my second playthrough of Metaphor when I need a breather.

000

coldbluestar.bsky.social @coldbluestar.bsky.social · 20/12/2025

I am thisclose to dialing down to easy on Expedition 33. What do you mean I need to perform dodges, parries, and jumps. I got into turn-based combat so I didn’t have to deal with hand-eye coordination or reaction time. 😅

KIRYU-CHAN! 🔪✨ #yakuza

Isometric fanart of multiple Majima Everywhere encounters from Yakuza Kiwami. Majima runs into Kiryu in different parts of a Kamurocho street corner in various disguises or hiding spots. Goromi, Hannya-Man, and 24-Hour Cinderella are among Majima's disguises.
