One of my cats got up from her nap, climbed onto a bookcase, and started meowing at some curtains. I found a stink bug, grabbed it in a paper towel, and told her she was good. She went back and resumed her nap like nothing had happened.

My cats have realized that if I brush my teeth, I’m probably either going to bed or leaving the house. They have decided these are occasions that merit treats, so they go into the kitchen and start circling and meowing. I can’t resist.

After WW2 much of the industrial world other than the US was devastated. The US had a 20 year head start to claim technological and economic exceptionalism. That era is gone. The rest of the world has caught up or passed by. It’s time to face this new reality.

When many web interactions are generated to prevent a business from functioning, it’s called a denial of service attack. Trump creates dumb ideas (Alcatraz, Greenland, etc.) in order to dilute the efforts to fight his more serious and harmful ideas. It’s a denial of service attack on the left.

Any Republican who won their last election by less than 10 points has to know they are vulnerable. The best way to save yourself is to do what’s right instead of being a pawn of Trump. You might get yelled at, or get a primary challenge, but your best chance to keep your seat is to do what’s right!

Trump seems focused on making cars in the US. If there was worldwide economic collapse, cars in the US would be possible fairly quickly. Computer chips in the US is another story. They come from places such as Taiwan. Biden emphasized beefing up US chip manufacturing. Trump doesn’t get it.

If 99% of Social Security payments are done correctly, that sounds pretty good. If there are $10 billion in over payments, that sounds very bad. But $10 billion is 1% of $1 trillion, which is the ballpark of annual social security payments. So is the glass half empty (Repubs), or half full (Dems)?

Don’t forget, the last time Trump was president the Canadians came out with a new medium/small passenger jet. Boeing complained, and Trump put a huge tariff on it. So Bombardier made a deal with Airbus to manufacture it in the US. Thus the Airbus 220. Trump has a history of sticking it to Canada.

There are a lot of people who don’t work hard or don’t think hard. Some can’t, others don’t want to. It’s easy to say let them get sick, or starve, or freeze, but that’s not the right answer. As annoying as it is, some people need help even though there’s no obvious reason why.
