Rough Close, 20 year old, reclusive, oldest of the 4 arrested. A star studded career in security awaits after prison.

Yes, my favourite shirt is the white crew neck (in cotton) from the early 70s. I think that’s the archetypal Stoke shirt.

Too much red. Should be three white stripes and two red. White stripes at the edges. Red lettering on a white backdrop. Dominance of red evokes Sheffield Utd, , Sunderland, Southampton.

Sol Sidibe and his management are also a consideration. Even if we play him regularly in the Championship for a year, Stoke to a Champions League club is a stretch. It may be that Villa with development plan is seen as a great next step for him.

I'm pleased this design is now likely - I bought three online in February while I was a bit pissed (was under £50 in total). I'll almost certainly never wear mine, but at least it's the right design.

J C will want to leave a legacy (premier league status) and will want a few more attempts at achieving this. That said, relegation this season pushes the prospect back by at least two years (and additional complexity / difficulty) so a decision to sell would be more likely as a L1 side in my view.

I felt we deserved something out of the game, though we don't respect possession sufficiently , and our decision making in the final third was abject. It was classless ( and unwarranted) to chant about Tyrese and the game became more confrontational afterwards ~ we were making headway beforehand.

He was my choice to be the Stoke manager the last three times. An original thinker, unencumbered by adhering to expected behaviours. Or possibly just a little unhinged.

Last season it was the wide players (Junho , Manhoef , Campbell) who was us over the line at the end of the season. This year, it's the (reintroduced) full backs who have made a difference, along with the return of Pearson. Junior and Bocat have been great in Feb and March.

We apparently lacked confidence in the permanent market as the quality was unreachable, unproven or indifferent.

Col @col.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
We clearly thought this was a better (or more dependable) option than signing a player for £1m , who would be our asset, and likely earning less wages, albeit tied to the club on a contract should things not work out .

Col @col.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
I think it's more to do with players of recognisable quality being tied up in the prem , and the risk equation. Al Hamadi cost £1m (?) loan fee plus wages , is cup tied and wasn't match fit when signed.

I really dislike being beholden to Prem teams for loans, having to compete for the chance to develop their players for them. As a Premier team, we seldom succeeded in loaning players out, at least not on any scale, or for fees that constituted a significant income stream.

Hopefully, this likely new Head of Recruitment (Newman) goes a bit deeper than data alone, and identifies targets who want to improve both themselves and the team.

Of I was clutching, I'd add Seko and Bocat to your list as they may come good in a side with a more solid platform. Five perms, 3 loans, 2 loan flyers?

It just makes me so profoundly sad, to paraphrase Elton John . Through years of the over investment of my hopes and aspirations in the club, I've left myself exposed to regular feelings of crushing disappointment . It's a concern. I wonder what will happen when the dice are next rolled.

Post match, Al Hamadi said it was cramp, Robins was hopeful this was the case.

Al Hamedi was better than expected today. Loved the angles he ran, and had the pace to get in front of opponents in the box. Very promising debut. Looks like he will be a headache for defenders and this will open up space for teammates. #scfc

Tezgel for Moran. His mates just scored and they impeach others games. Tell him to go and win it. A point doesn't move the dial

He wasn’t born into billions though. He played a role in founding Bet365, so could be said to have earned the majority of his assets, whether riding the coattails of others or not. I don’t buy the narrative of witlessness. Decision making (and any required perspectives) is different matter.

We look nervy, and we are not quite clicking. Moments of promise, but we lack the killer ball. We are the better team, Cardiff are poor but we're not convincing.

It’s a hard habit to break. Even when I’ve been convinced that we weren’t trying (hard enough) to win home games over prolonged periods (I exclude Narcis), I couldn’t shake the disease. It’s the hope invested. I’m probably just too optimistic , clinging to the slightest evidence of plans working

Evening all my old friend Courtney Love has spilled the beans, so I think I can now. Been working on her amazing new record. Been a trip, she gave me complete artistic freedom. Loved every minute, autoharp, electric mandolin, Bulbul Tarang, baritone guitar plus layers of 12 & 6 string guitars.

I think their first five are better than REM, but you’re right- primed for lift off. Isn’t it great when a talented band keep improving?

I hope they enjoy the ‘best band in the world’ career that the Bunnymen should have had after their 5th album . I love their origins from a poetry collective . Lyrically, they’ve always been agile, but it’s the expansion of their music that’s really impressive- bit like the Beatles -Help to Abbey Rd

Thought we looked potent on break. I'm happy enough but clearly we were capable of winning. If we looked more able to control the game in midfield, I think the platform would bring the best out of our forwards
