It's a long term plan. Some routes (Abingdon) are near done. Some (A44, A40) are not green, already there, but need improvement. Others (Eynsham, Culham) have plans that mostly require funding. The programme aims to catalyse opportunities from cenral and local sources.

This, however, is misrepresented by a few in the 'motoring lobby' as an assault on their rights, which they apparently want to be total domination of all routes by motor vehicles that kill 1500 people a year, and maim thousands, leading people to adopt unhealthy choices.

Who are Oxfordshire's Quiet Lanes for? They are to make vulnerable road users, like children, safer from harm by motorists. They enhance ability to get places by walking and cycling, but don't stop anyone getting anywhere by driving.
A clip from a local newspaper annotated to show that quiet lanes are to make children safer, not to make grumpy motorists happy.

The results show that plenty of manufacturers can produce desirable, affordable electric cars in volume (and if you haven't tried one, you should). A few lagging manufacturers want targets postponed, but the more advanced manufacturers are already delivering to future targets.

While the ZEV mandate for 2026 is 33%, allowances for lowering emissions make the effective target 25% so manufacturers are well ahead of target and credits will be plentiful and cheap for the laggards. Full info, inc vans at: newautomotive.org/ecc

What complete tosh. There are lots of roads that are intended for motor vehicles that have restriction signs on them. Every one way street for example will have a No Entry sign at one end. Pedestrianised shopping streets will have restriction signs, with exceptions for deliveries.

It's good to see the casualties down, but there is so much more to do. Arguments against schemes that are known to save significant numbers of lives and/or injuries should be exposed as unethical, and those making them required to explain in more detail why they wish to harm members of the public.
