The second lecture featured Dr. Vignesh Muralidharan (IIT Jodhpur, Muralilab) with “How Humans Control Actions? A Look Through the Brain, Body, and Embodiment,” exploring cognitive control, neural oscillations and force production, and brain dynamics during movement in virtual environments.

The series opened with Prof. Anindya Sinha (NIAS & IISc Bangalore) and his lecture “Know Thyself: Cognitive Agency, Experiential Knowledge and Conception of the Self in a Nonhuman Primate,” drawing on three decades of research on non-human primates.

Key findings presented included the dominance of trunk-related tactile pathways, larger overall brain and grey matter volumes in Asian elephants despite smaller body size, relatively larger cerebella in African elephants, and evidence of marked postnatal brain growth.
