Wardogs is the only online shooter I know where you can finish a match in top 10% on the leaderboard with 0 kills, 0 assists, 0 deaths, and 0 revives. I got my "reach $100000 net profit in a single life" achievement just casually flying supplies from base to F.O.B. and chatting with friends on […]

There's type of Russian hot mustard you can get that's literally officially labelled as "nuclear".

Wardogs is a time machine. You see 10pm on the clock, think you can probably squeeze in another round, next thing you know it's 1am and you've got 4 hours left to get some sleep.

Got a Keychron scissor keyboard for office, and the thing feels like typing on Haribo gummies :drgn_flat_pleading: With that said, it _is_ a new feeling, and for the novelty factor alone, I'm kind of liking it.

Writing is turning out to be hard, but not for the reasons I expected. A finished passage is loved by everyone I share it with, but I myself fail to feel anything at all when I re-read it. There's supposed to be mystery, and suspense, and uncertainty, and existential dread from not knowing […]

When the comic goes up, it's going to be posted on a fresh GoToSocial instance, and I've just realised I don't need a dedicated comic view, I can just do simple navigation using markdown links in the posts themselves. The only thing I need is a persistent 'latest post' link and a script that […]

Amazon takes a while to charge the card and send a receipt when purchasing Kindle books, so sizeable was my surprise when I got this email out of nowhere.

I love FOSS weather apps and the ominous warnings they send to my watch.

So I've just learned that my launcher on Android will let me use any icon for any app, so I can now keep my PWA apps looking uniform next to the native ones on the homescreen.
A screenshot of an Android phone homescreen showing a vertically scrolling launcher with a clock, date, a block of app icons, and a couple widgets. Icons in the block all have a minimalistic, uniform theme. The bottom row stylistically looks the same as all the others, but each icon in it has a miniature icon next to it indicating that it's a progressive web app shortcut created by another app.

Core Devices actually achieved a small miracle: the Pebble Time 2 really lasts the advertised 30 days if you use it as a smartwatch and not a fitness device. I set it to behave like a regular electronic watch - an always-on display, touchscreen off, no standby mode when I take it off my wrist […]

Interesting that in just one update (to be fair, I haven't updated since May) Gboard took a sharp and very noticeable nosedive when it comes to the typing quality. The new version has problems with vocabulary where it would actively push words on me that I've never seen before and would never […]

Being genderfluid (or agender) online, male-presenting to strangers IRL, and fully native in both the languages I speak makes it dangerous having one of those two languages have gendered grammar. Spending much time every day on a MUCK as a female-presenting character, even if it's in English […]

I never finished the VR-friendly replica of my old apartment before my headset crapped itself and then I had to move countries. It's all good, though: the new apartment is way cooler and a lot easier to model at the same time. Might even model the outdoors, for a more accurate skybox and light […]
