I realized recently I very rarely have AI in my stories and it's occurring to me that's intentional as AI is making my job sooooo miserable so I'd like to imagine a future where that is not true! and AI isn't shoved into everything!! and AI isn't used to ruin people's livelihoods!!!

Saw a father on the metro today getting overly aggressive with his young daughter, who also was in trouble for his failing not hers ultimately, and it just made me so sick and reminded me why I always want to write characters where parents aren't like that, where children are safe and loved truly.

If it makes you feel better, I set my 100 pages up for media I consumed and enjoyed, thinking ok like two things a week and trying to NOT put books but like shows I watched, films, to entice me to actually watch things… I am very far behind and am now just putting my books too because whatever lol.

The way I start so many entries with "So" ooof but I have practiced (as my therapist wants me to) to look at things from a neutral to positive stance and if the day was "bad," to ask myself what could I do to make it better? But I look forward to your DMs and might send pics back too 🤍🤍🤍

This is also why I have a notebook for "record of decisions I made, research I did, etc" and one that's like "THIS IS FREEFORM DO NOT BE PRECIOUS" and that has helped immensely but is satisfying, I've found, to look back and be like look at what was on my mind in April and how far I've come!

Oh I love that idea! My techo and journal are often just like "I did this then did this then did this. I don't know how I feel yet about it" because alexithymia, but I have gotten better at figuring out what I'm feeling writing it and am also thinking how can I do more, especially more fun things?

Every time I see that techo, I think of you! I did also consider getting an A6 planner for journaling next year but I like the graph notebooks for that because I can write as much or as little I want, I think people be sleeping on the graph notebooks which you can put two of in a cover.

I think what I'll try to to do is stick with what I got this year (Hobonichi Weeks + A6 graph notebooks x2) and just use them better, more, that sort of thing, then invest in things like stamps and washi and pens, thinking about getting into fountain pens in particular, and use them all more.

It's a eat cozy food and watch The Makani: Cooking for the Maiko House on Netflix again kind of night. I've said it before but I adore this show, it's so quiet and beautiful and shows a glimpse into being a maiko and a geiko in Kyoto, the rules, the skills, the ups and downs.

I think Raku's the only one with his head truly on straight, like he happened to find the most perfect environment to be raised in with true clarity on what matters and how to speak with others, and it's understated and nuanced but a lot of the story would fall apart without him there being Raku. 🐧

I like to picture adult Hoshi fully aware and embracing she had a weird upbringing and a weird family life and you just have to fully commit, and adult Raku is a lot more chill hanging in the back with people sleeping on how much he himself knows and can do.

Don't spoil what happens in it, I haven't seen TOS since I was a child so I'm planning to rewatch it from start to end. My core memory is of the Tribbles which is like one episode in the middle season and yet ate the whole thing.
