The first time I saw BBNM was in a theater at a all night horror marathon. Her performance tore the roof off that place! The audience was losing their minds. 😂

Susan Tyrell as Aunt Cheryl in BBNM is such a next level, bonkers performance. The best!

I hope you like it if you get a chance to see it! You should definitely check out the director’s previous film, Oddity (2024), if you enjoy Hokum.

The Phantasm series is so damn good!

It’s definitely worth seeking out! It’s a horror film about a troubled novelist who travels to Ireland to stay at the hotel his deceased parents had their honeymoon at. While attempting to make peace with his past he becomes entangled in a possibly supernatural situation involving a missing woman.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #Filmsky #Moviesky Nuts! (2016) Hokum (2026) Scarlet Sails (1961) Sting of Death (1966)

Letterboxd Friday. Images of the posters of my last four watched. Nuts! (2016) - a great animated documentary about a medical charlatan and the public’s desire to believe things that are to good to be true. Hokum (2026) - I didn’t find it to be as compelling as McCarthys last film, Oddity, but this is a strong entry in a year of great horror cinema. Scarlett Sails (1961) - Ptushko rules. Another Deaf Crocodile winner. Stings Death (1966) - Mike and the Bots are back, baby!

Letterboxd Friday. Images of the posters of my last four watched. Primetime (2026) - much to recommend here, but Skyler Gisondo is the MVP of this one. Jurassic Park (1993) - hadn’t seen this since the VHS days. Still pretty damn great. Coyote vs. Acme (2026) - caught it a second time before it left my local theater. A winner. Roy del Espacio (1983) - a charming lost animated film from Mexico. Deaf Crocodile releases are always worth seeking out!

Letterboxd Friday. Images of the posters for my last four watched. Old Shatterhand (1964) - my first Karl May western was a totally fun experience, which I followed up with… Winnetou and Shatterhand in the Vallley of Death (1968) - which is also in the Adventure Calls! Karl May at CCC boxset released by Eureka. Highly recommended. Bullet in the Head (1990) - a rewatch of the new Arrow 4K. Of Unknown Origin (1983) - George P. Cosmatos presents Dr. Peter Weller vs a rat!

It was the final 85 minute episode. It definitely feels a lot more like The Rehearsal than Nathan For You. It’s well worth the watch.

Letterboxed Friday. Images of posters of my last four watched. Finding Frances (2017) a revisit of the excellent feature length final episode of Nathan For You. This definitely points to what Fielders next series, The Rehearsal, is going for. Queen Kathryn (1998) a bonkers vanity project that’s worth hunting down. Watched in preparation for listening to the 9/9/26 episode of the Movie Melt Podcast. A Schwing for me. The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) a lesser Lanthimos in my opinion, but it does have a vibe that really works for me. Resident Evil (2026) Cregger goes 3 for 3.

Letterboxed Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for The End of Oak Street (2026) - as advertised… it’s a lightweight, but fun dinos on a rampage movie. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (2026) - Jane Schoenbrunn delivers another weird and wonderful film. Extra Terrestrial Visitors (1983) - the first, and probably the last, time I’ve seen the non-MST3K version Pod People. It’s still kinda fun though. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974) - top tier Peckinpah with a classic performance by Warren Oates.

Letterboxd Friday. Last Four Watched. Images of the posters for Toomorrow (1970) - aliens, groovy tunes, and Olivia Newton John make this cartoony musical well worth watching. Viva (2007) - rewatched in anticipation of Anna Billers new film. Marquis (1989) - a one of a kind film about a dog headed Marquis de Sade and his talking penis named Colin. Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie (2025) - I really loved this truly innovative and hilarious comedy. It’s one of the best movies I’ve seen this year.

Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982) - an excellent adaptation of the stage play with great performances from the entire cast, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood (2019) - a straight up classic, The Odyssey (2026) - I wasn’t as taken with this as most people seem to be but I feel like further viewings are in order, The Upsetter: The Life and Music of Lee Scratch Perry (2008) - a decent music doc that meanders a bit in the back half yet is still worth checking out if you’re a Perry fan.

Bang My Box is excellent! It’s a treasure trove of late night madness. Robin comes across as a real inspiration, both as a pioneering cable-access host and as an awesome elder still living their best life.

I saw Robocop for the first time at a friends birthday sleep over in the 7th grade. I don’t think my friends folks had any idea about what they had rented. They popped it into the VCR and left the room. Bless Verhoeven, our little minds were melted.

Images of the posters for The Horror From Beyond (1965) - a shot in the Philippines drive-in horror film starring a silly/scary irradiated skeleton that goes on a rampage, Bang My Box: The Robin Byrd Story (2026) - this excellent documentary about the legendary New York cable access host is a must see, Class Action Park (2020) - a fun documentary that explores the history of a New Jersey water park known for its poorly designed rides and take your chances attitude, and Anora (2024) - Sean Baker hasn’t made a bad film and this freewheeling movie is truly one of his best.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #Filmsky #Moviesky Disclosure Day (2026) Evil Dead Burn (2026) Boots and the Preacher (1972) Paradise of Terror (1965)

Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Disclosure Day (2026) - Spielberg continues his run of pretty great 2020s movies with a film that comments on (and is in conversation with) his other alien contact movies, Evil Dead Burn (2026) - my least favorite of the series yet it still delivered some of the top notch ED gags and gore you’d expect, Boots and the Preacher (1972) - a previously thought lost Hicksploitation “classic” that is a little aimless but it’s sweaty down home vibes carry it through its short running time, and Paradise of Terror (1965) a horror movie filmed in the Philippines that’s beautifully shot and really packs a punch despite its low budget. It’s a minor miracle of 60s horror cinema that deserves a bigger reputation.
