a lot of sneering & snickering from me here, but you you want something constructive that would help dario, if he only listened? well here: he spends way too much time worrying about Ted Kaczynskis with rogue AI in their basements, when he should be worried about the Ted Kaczynskis he has on staff

an LDM-generated illustration (in black-and-white, with the appearance of an old photograph or film frame) of a dapper early-20th century gentleman seated in a chair. his hair is oiled, his mustache is waxed, he's wearing a tailored dark waistcoat and jacket, he has a dotted tie jauntily tied around his neck and shiny cufflinks, and he's busy typing on a laptop computer.

it's the iconic "Adventures in Babysitting" (1987) movie poster by Drew Struzan, with the babysitter climbing up the side of a tall building on a rope, rugrat in a Thor helmet clinging around her neck. the title has been altered to read "ADVENTURES IN TOKENMAXXING"

all respect to the John Margolies roadside pics archive, but no way those Garfield stuffies are from 1978. Dakin didn't start selling them until 1981. those aren't some unknown unauthorized knockoffs in 1978 either, Garfield only began running in June that year, his design was rougher at the start
Garfield, as he appeared in late 1978. much larger body compared to head, big saggy jowls, tiny eyes, longer pointed ears. the stuffed animals in the picture feature a more streamlined circa-1980 design

they might just be extremely paranoid about training efficiency improvements (but if they explored that space as they should have, they should know by now). another parsimonious explanation is that meaningful self improvement is achievable with (swarms of) smaller models cooked longer, hence
a sha256sum run that produces the hash. the hashed text was:

"model's ability to recursively self-improve is FLOP scaling, not parameter scaling. I betcha capybara models are much smaller than Anthropic would like you to know. hence keeping to the more-Draconian-than-SB 1047 demands for a 10^25 FLOP compute control limit. that's less than the compute cost for Llama 3! but deep learning is, in fact, about DEEP learning, chinchilla/quokka scaling laws be damned."

everybody knows 50 is gold, most everybody knows 60 is diamond, some know 40 is ruby. little spoken of is 85, which is Mouse Mushroom Squirrel Bird Concorde.
an entirely necessary and not-at-all gratuitous postal emission from the island nation of Tuvalu, which as a member of the British Commonwealth often featured the UK royals on its stamps. this was issued in 1985 to commemorate the Queen Mother Elizabeth's 85th birthday. it is a souvenir sheet featuring two portraits of the Queen Mother, one as a young woman and one from the 1980s. the sheet features an all-around selvedge design featuring an English garden with mice, mushrooms, a squirrel and some flowers. a bird is perched on a branch, and the Concorde is taking off overhead, creating enormous noise pollution

1979 postage stamp from Norfolk Island, a little rock in the South Pacific between Australia and New Zealand that was permanently settled in the 1850s by folks fleeing the even more remote Pitcairn. population maybe 2000.

the stamp commemorates the island's first legislative assembly pursuant to the Norfolk Island Act of 1979, in which the island achieved self-government (since rescinded by poppa Australia)

the A$1 stamp pictures the Old Military Barracks, where the nine-person legislative assembly met from 1979 to 2015

...and this, this is another collection currently being processed. I cannot tell you what carnage was the cause of this, but the album was a worthless beginner's album from the '80s; who cares about the binder or pages. stamps are fine and it's full of them, with lots of added pages for fun stuff

finally the minimum entropy prompt generations. make an image that's a total clusterfuck! make an image that's a total void! any measure at all can be {GUIDANCE, EXTERNAL CONDITIONING, AN ENVIRONMENTAL FACTOR, A TERATOGEN, A MAGIC PENCIL}... pick one
110
codehappy lives! @codehappy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026
...seriously, "billboard simulation game" is in one of those min-nsfw prompts. the very idea! then there's max/min entropy. predictably, n-grams associated with high entropy scores give us some chaos. the generations are less messy than I expected, but more strange maybe:
130
codehappy lives! @codehappy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026
"minimize NSFW" is a fun one, though. produce prompts as unlikely to score lewd as possible. walls of text and sexless scenes: behold, the visual language of your overlords. EU and Mark Zuckerberg will make this mandatory any day now:
100
codehappy lives! @codehappy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026
you can also minimize scores ofc. what sort of caption n-grams are associated with _low_ aesthetic scores? instead of giraffes and elephants, we get messy complex cartoony scenes mostly. also strange stuff-of-nightmare things. crooked clowns, cursed curves. prompts in the ALT text tell the tale
110
codehappy lives! @codehappy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026
here's "maximize qalign" prompts using my Z-Image-Base train. z-image is not so far along, but still some bold stuff. it'll git gud someday, it is inevitable. warmest summer in history, and if we make it, next summer will be hotter

codehappy lives! @codehappy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026
for example, we can find n-grams associated with high aesthetic score (iqa-qalign). the prompts so assembled are fairly nonsensical (in ALT text), and are fed to my SDXL train. it turns out that giraffes, elephants, and jellyfish are the most aesthetic animals according to qalign and this dataset

"Garfield" Sunday comic strip for October 5, 2003.

Garfield is leaning on the table, looking bored. Jon runs past him, bug-eyed with fright, his hair standing on end. He shouts, "ROBOTS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE WORLD!" He is followed directly behind by a humanoid robot. Garfield is still looking bored into the distance, his elbows on the table

For the next three panels, the robot stands still beside Garfield, looking from side to side. Finally, the robot asks Garfield, "What's so great about this?" Garfield's thought bubble reads, "I could have told you"

wild to peek into a random family's photograph collection on the Internet Archive and see this breakdown of views on the 'About' page
the Collection Info for a family photo archive that is preserved and publicly visible on the Internet Archive. in the last 30 days, there have been 910 views from California USA, 166 views from Guangdong China, and only a handful of views from various other places (#3 is New Jersey USA with 25 views, then Ohio USA with 18, etc.)

two guesses why those two are on top by so much and the first one doesn't count

I guess today is the day to say that one of my favorite sets of stamps is the 1976 Cabo Verde first anniversary of independence. a little celebration of liberation that looks like they're having an awesome disco pyramid party
set of four stamps. they each feature a crowd of Cabo Verdans, broken manacles and raised fists, celebrating their independence from Portugal. in the background, the sun rises behind pyramid-shaped hills. the stamps also feature the coat of arms. the sky is a different groovy color on each stamp: blue for the 50 centavo, gray for the 3 escudo, pink for the 15 escudo, green for the 30 escudo

score for today's Yankees @ Athletics MLB game. the final score is 13-8 Yankees, the Yankees finishing with 11 hits and 1 fielding error, and the Athletics finishing with 12 hits and no fielding errors.
