And until then we have women like Amanda Nguyen. Before she became a public voice for survivors, she protected her identity as “Jane Doe.” What she endured and what she discovered about the system would ultimately help change federal law. #SheShed
AMANDA NGUYEN
SURVIVOR • ADVOCATE • CHANGE MAKER
WHY SHE USED THE NAME
"JANE DOE"
After her 2013 sexual assault, Amanda Nguyen chose to have her rape kit filed under the name
"Jane Doe" to protect her privacy and keep her identity separate from a potential criminal case. Using a pseudonym helped shield her from further harm while she pursued justice and pushed for change.
HER COURAGE HELPED CREATE REAL CHANGE.
Amanda's advocacy led to the Sexual Assault Survivors' Rights Act of 2016, establishing federal rights for survivors, including protections for their forensic evidence.

Working people pay taxes on every paycheck. Billionaires can build enormous fortunes largely through assets whose gains generally aren’t taxed until they’re sold. #SheShed
Believing that a small group of billionaires are suddenly working tirelessly for the benefit of the working class really does require a spectacular level of stupidity........

🚨California voters: Check your dates! A new law means official vote-by-mail drop-off locations open October 4 ~ NOT October 6 for the November 3 election. Some printed guides may be outdated. Please share so #California voters have the correct information. 🗳️ #SheShed #Vote
CALIFORNIA VOTERS
IMPORTANT UPDATE
California has changed when official vote-by-mail ballot drop-off locations must open.
DROP-OFF LOCATIONS OPEN
30 DAYS
BEFORE ELECTION DAY
THAT MEANS
OCTOBER 4
FOR THE NOVEMBER 3 ELECTION.
IMPORTANT: Some voter guides were printed
!
before the change and may still say October 6.
So if your guide says October 6, don't panic. The law changed after some materials were already prepared.
Before heading out, check your county elections office for the exact location and hours.
- AND PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR CALIFORNIA PEOPLE.
Someone may be looking at an outdated date.

The words didn’t exist, but the harm did. In 1975, women at #CornellUniversity gave a name to what countless women had endured in silence. Naming #sexualharassment changed the conversation, strengthened protections, and gave women language to fight back. #SheShed #EEOC
The term
"sexual harassment" is only about 50 years old, having been coined in 1975 by a group of women at Cornell University.

Exactly right Ann and they seem to forget who brought them into the world….. #SheShed
One thing no one has explained is why women's rights should vary by state, while men keep the same rights across the entire country, no matter where they live.
Don't Americans have equal protection under the 14th Amendment?
Misogyny as policy treats women as "less than."
There is no law that controls a man's body.
Now do the same for women.

Equal protection is the law.

Well, it’s nighttime….look who fell asleep yesterday in the Oval Office while a multibillion-dollar steel plant project in Iowa was announced. After all those years of “Sleepy Joe,” this video practically writes its own caption. #SheShed #TrumpAsleepAgain

Andrea 🫂♥️ We have been in dark places for centuries ~ it was sometimes hidden while other moments celebrated💀 #SheShed
When we dehumanize others, we don't just harm them.
We become something less than human ourselves.
We must regain the story of our shared humanity.

Today’s #SheShed Daily honors Chien-Shiung Wu, a pioneering physicist whose groundbreaking experiments transformed physics. Her brilliance, courage, and perseverance opened doors and still inspire women in science. Built by women. Made for everyone💜
WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP
SPOTLIGHT
Courage. Leadership. Lasting Change.
CHIEN-SHIUNG WU PHYSICIST • TRAILBLAZER THE FIRST LADY OF PHYSICS
Chien-Shiung Wu's precise experiments helped prove that the universe does not follow the same rules in mirror-image reactions, overturning a long-held belief in physics. Her work reshaped how we understand the universe and opened the door to major advances in science.
In 1975, she became the first woman elected president of the American Physical Society and remains an inspiration for generations of scientists.
