has anyone done a Project Hail Mary edit to down bad yet I think we need that
screenshot of lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Did you really beam me up
In a cloud of sparkling dust
Just to do experiments on?
Tell me I was the chosen one
Showed me that this world is bigger than us
Then sent me back where I came fromScreenshot of project Hail Mary when Grace is outside the ship and it's showing the infrared view with sparkling glares all around him

Reminded me of this quote from bell hooks. Patriarchy demands that men must constantly police themselves. If they fail, another man will punish them.
“ The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. If an individual is not successful in emotionally crippling himself, he can count on patriarchal men to enact rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem.” - bell hooks

This is midway through an article on CBD and the vagus nerve, but it reads like it's the start. None of the article header images are loading, and this one is a sentence fragment that also sounds like an image prompt Is this all AI generated?
An Introduction to CBD
Welcome to our comprehensive guide on CBD, where we will explore the fascinating world of cannabidiol and its potential therapeutic properties. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is one of the many compounds found in the cannabis plant. Unlike its well-known counterpart, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is non-intoxicating and does not produce the euphoric effects commonly associated with cannabis use.

Now, let’s dive deeper into the world of CBD and discover how it interacts with the human body.

I've been looking at #longCovid and #vagusnerve issues, and vagusnerve.com claims you can use a Tens unit by putting the pads on either side of your neck Meanwhile literally every other source says DO NOT DO THIS as it can cause muscle spasms that can close your airway.
Site text: Step-by-Step Guide to Using a Tens Unit for Vagus Nerve Stimulation

When using a Tens Unit for vagus nerve stimulation, it is crucial to start with the lowest intensity setting and gradually increase if tolerated. This approach allows the body to acclimate to the electrical impulses and reduces the risk of discomfort or adverse reactions.

Placing the electrodes on specific areas of the body, such as the neck or ears, can target the vagus nerve. The neck is a common placement site, where the electrodes are positioned on either side of the throat. The earlobes are another option, with one electrode placed on each lobe. Experimenting with different placements may be necessary to find the most effective position for each individual.

It is vital to remember that individual responses may vary, and seeking guidance from a healthcare professional is advised to ensure safe and effective use. They can provide personalized recommendations based on the specific condition being treated and any underlying medical considerations.

During the stimulation session, it is important to remain still and relaxed. Some individuals may experience a tingling sensation or mild muscle contractions, which are normal and expected. However, if any discomfort or pain arises, the intensity should be adjusted or the session stopped altogether.

After the session is complete, it is recommended to clean the electrodes again and store them properly to maintain their longevity. Storing them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight is ideal.

Overall, using a Tens Unit for vagus nerve stimulation can be a valuable adjunct therapy for various conditions. However, it is essential to approach this technique with caution and under professional guidance to ensure safety and maximize potential benefits.

It's strange to read @jesscalarco.bsky.social's "Holding it Together" about how social safety nets were dismantled by the rich while thinking about how if it weren't for family, I would be homeless right now because of long-Covid.

Made this to try and explain how I'm feeling about current events. Wheeeeeeeeeeee.
Image of a roller coaster that says "the fascist roller coaster". Going up the lift hill, it's annotated with: "escalating rhetoric", "court packing", "compromising institutions that hold accountability", "replacing experts with loyalists". Then an arrow pointing to the top with the text: "you are here.
Down the roller coaster, it says "profiting off taxpayers", "destruction of public goods", and "cleansing "enemies"".

Feels like Microsoft and tech employees generally should read “IBM and the Holocaust” by Edwin Black to really understand how technology facilitated the scale of atrocities committed by the nazis.

user: lastoneout: "CinemaWins once said “Every movie, with very little exception, is someone’s favorite, I like to find out why.” and that sentence alone is worth more than every single thing the CinemaSins guys have ever created."

Not memorizing historical facts is all fun and games until the AI (company) adds a paywall or decides to lie.
Screenshot of the article from the 404 media post: I asked him to tell me his vision of the future.
“I will never have to remember when the American Revolution was,” Lee said. “I will never have to remember what the capital of Wisconsin is. Every single thing that is rote memorization, that relies on facts that you don’t need in the moment, that are not intrinsically necessary for a human to learn, you won’t need that anymore.”
“Entire school systems will be gone. The entire K-12 education. Everybody sits in a room eight hours a day, takes multiple choice exams. In my future, everything we understand education to be, will be completely gone.” He said that people will explore whatever topics they want from the earliest ages in the “most efficient way possible.”
“History will be on the side of the maximalists,” he said.

Turns out a commitment to diversity isn’t a marketing campaign you can turn on and off when it’s convenient. Would’ve been better for them if they hadn’t done it at all. Oops!
