Dad hack time! Ever have to entertain young kids around the shops when others are browsing? I bring you: Alphahunt! You need to search the entire store for one of every letter of the alphabet on Any printed media! Some stores are harder than others! Once done you 'complete' that store!

Just needs a warm wash tomorrow to bulk out the weave. None too shabby if I do say so myself.

Had a great deal of trouble putting poppers on my umbrella after the velcro went 💩. In a flash of inspiration, instead of whacking the stupid bit of plastic with a hammer and ruining at least 5 of them 🪦, I had the idea to use a g-clamp! Worked a treat! Much more controlled!

Picture of a g-clamp and some poppers with the plastic tool.

Working on a new life skill! In case you're wondering, it's a scarf!

The first ever commission I did was for a very gifted programmer when we were both about 17yo. He was writing a puzzle game and asked me to write the music for it. I showed him the track and his face grimaced a little before saying. It's so annoying! It's perfect! Happy client!

All this talk about how us humans today are not living with the same threats as all those years ago. No, now we have a whole bunch of new threats we made for ourselves: Microplastics Climate crisis Radiation Pesticides Hmmmmm 🤔

Managed to get 30 mins music in today and made some great progress! Didn't expect to achieve much so I just decided to 'show up'. Turns out I was rewarded for that!

Been exercising my intervals training by working out kids songs in my head for my son to play. The hardest part is when he starts singing the song from the beginning when I'm trying to work out an interval at the end.

I'd love to say this sold out in 2024! Go grab a quick listen on Bandcamp and if you like what you hear........well you know what to do!

Music buddies, do any of you stream to discord? If so do you use discord client app, or something else?

Got my workflow working well yesterday. Took about 5-10 minutes to get 3 full bars of a string section into the DAW, including some humanisation. I really want to get to the point I can play stuff in, but I often find the quantizing puts notes in the wrong place and I spend too much time adjusting.

Anyone got suggestions for scoring on the go on Android? Single stave will do.

Trying to compose a melody a day and then also score it and it is good enough, share it here. Today's melody is done, conceptually speaking.

I've been thinking about this a lot. I guess the one thing I'd like is 'fairness'. I know that sounds very philosophical. I'm not sure what it means in practice. Bestseller doesn't always mean the best. Most played doesn't always mean the best. What do I have as a suggestion 🤷

Spent the better part of an hour getting back to grips with the Orchestral setup that I had before in Reaper. I had a number of scripts set up to help aid my composition in the DAW and they are actually really useful to my flow.

Your $12-15 payment every month to Spotify disappears into a blackhole and is noticed and appreciated by exactly NO ONE. By contrast, you could spend that same amount today at Bandcamp, OWN three albums because of it, AND make the day of each of those artists. Seriously, a $5 sale can change a life

I did a short video a while back to demonstrate different levels of realism in VSTs. Any questions, just gimme a comment. Happy to answer and help.

Oh gosh. I just figured out why every little procedural building game like mine is set on an island in the middle of the ocean. I feel like such a dummy for not realizing it before. Ugh. Does this mean I need an ocean? 😶‍🌫️ (Realization came from this great looking project! bsky.app/profile/fara... )

I don't usually do recommendations. But this film will remain my favourite Christmas film of all time for a while. I ain't gonna lie this old man can't keep his tears in check with this one. It gets me every time. I limit my viewing to once a year to keep it special.

Had a brand new AA battery 🔋 seemingly short itself out today on first use. I have no idea what happened. But the Christmas Lights now have a partially melted casing. Good job my nose knows that burning smell. The lights were fine last year.

I was once in class during a test where the teacher scolded 'whoever it was who was humming'. I tutted and carried on with my test. When it happened the second time the coincidence of my tutting with the cessation of the humming forced a stark realisation. I was the hummer! 😭😂😁
