I’ve lived in Texas for 12 years. They hate their Republican elected officials, but always vote for them, or the people they endorse. A candidate says “God”, holds a gun, and mentions “Illegals” and/or anything anti LGBQ and they’re in. I don’t want to get optimistic, I’ve been disappointed.

Paxton could literally physically take money out of Texans wallets while he shook their hands and many of them would still vote for him. Texas politics is the most maddening aspect of this state. I’ve been here for 12 years and they constantly vote against their values.
