The Lynx just hit the wall. Mentally and physically. They also played a contender that was hurt all season & has the second best player in the league. But, more-so, the burden Liv, Mac, Tash and Court had to carry with little to no bench all season just wore them down. Especially Liv. They crashed.

It’s plain and simple. Phee is getting her ass kicked by Stewie. She hasn’t been good at winning her individual match up against other marquee players since she’s returned and they can’t win this series if Phee can’t be a better version of herself. Also, the Lynx aren’t playing smart enough to win.

If I’m Cheryl I’m playing the Liv ankle situation as “need only” basis this weekend. Assuming she doesn’t play vs Was, if the GS loses at Chi over the weekend and Ind loses one of the back 2 backs, I’m not playing Liv til the ATL game. Plus, Court could use the on ball time for her rhythm’s sake.

At this point, anyone arguing that O. Miles doesn’t have a case for MVP is just stupid. It’s not just about stats for a PG. It’s her floor game. It’s how she controls the game. 23-8. People will point to her 5 TOs but 3 of them were dropped passes or players not where she led them to. Maestro work!

The eye test and Tash’s stats just don’t match. But my apologies. 17-8-6 on 7-11fg with 2 steals and only 1 turnover for a +8 is effective basketball. Man, it didn’t seem like it watching the game. But the numbers don’t lie. I stand corrected. Not unplayable at all 🤣.

The forwards have just got to be better. Phee making uncharacteristic defensive game plan mistakes. Tash isn’t doing much of anything productive on either end. Dorka has GOT to catch that pass from the TV angle. Things are right there for the Lynx and they should have a bigger lead. Tighten up.

When I put on my coach’s hat, it’s not lost on me that Phee and Liv were sent out to do the post game presser together after the loss to the Sparks. Cheryl isn’t HOF for no reason. Wouldn’t surprise me if those two are sitting down and doing some film session work together today.

Last Lynx thought. They looked like a team that hit the wall. 3 points from the bench and the starters looked gassed down the stretch. Don’t hate me for saying this but it’s quite possible there’s a losing streak incoming. There was a lot concerning about that game. Physically and mentally.

Lynx just played really bad. Period. Didn’t play with energy. Didn’t match the intensity. They looked mentally fatigued (no excuse for that with 3 days off). They looked lethargic. And they didn’t move the ball most of the second half. A lot of zero pass possessions. Just piss poor basketball.

To be fair to Caldwell, her 7 rebounds as a guard off the bench were huge. As was her ability to keep wearing on CC when KMac wasn’t. I question her offensive decision making but never her energy and effort. She earned them some huge SCP.

Lynx with a golden opportunity tomorrow. With how tightly the playoff seeding positioning is, to be able to win a home game and go 4 up, especially given their finishing schedule is major. Their defense will be severely tested. It’s right there in front of them.

I’ve seen MJ play for the Bulls from the 8th row VIP section in the United Center yet I’ve never wished I was in Chicago at a bball game more than I wish I was at WNBA All-Star weekend & game. Olivia’s excellence has clearly made up for a ton of low IQ basketball by the Lynx players. My goodness. It’s uncanny to see a Cheryl coached team make so many awful, HS level decisions on both ends. And the vets are not without fault. Seriously low bball IQ stuff out there. Gotta clean it up.

Can’t win em all. Each game is a learning experience. Getting Dorka back will be just as important as getting Phee back. NY’s size and length was just too much when combined with their guard play. Lynx have given up a lot of points to NY and LV, granted both on the road. But the size mattered.

Liv is going to have hot moments and hot games but the scout is going to be “go way under and force her to shoot 3’s” more and more. Of all the facets of her game, that’s the one that is most inconsistent. If she wants to continue to live in the paint, she’ll have to get that J better than streaky.

Lynx first half decision making has been awful. Ball way too sticky. It’s been the good and the bad of Liv. Maya Caldwell has consistently been doing too much with the ball lately. Courtney has really been struggling defensively. Tash struggling to finish around JJ. Down 10 ‘bout right. Not good
