he holds much regret in this manner as in a similar way, kazuhira also grew up without his father, who was a part of the military services when he was a child. even after their divorce, he still holds affection and worry for nadine.

his ex - wife nadine, primarily raised catherine as kaz was unable to visit or be present for long periods of time ( much to his regret. ) he was unable to watch catherine grow up. catherine now being in her teens.
