I disagree wholeheartedly with tracing. But if I shared a poem and didn't credit the poets I've read, how would you feel?

If you've come here from the argument I engaged in. I believe redrawing, or tracing, insofar as I know it, requires crediting. I do not believe seeing Bloodborne and deciding to make a game that is Victorian or Lovecraftian requires crediting.

There's an innate difference between citing sources of factual information, and being inspired by a conglomerate of pieces. I sometimes outright quote other people's works at the start of my poems, in which case I footnote it. But I cannot be asked to cite every atom that built the molecule

This is a really good point in the larval stage. People use various works to practice their own craft. Whether they try to sell that is a different story. Speaking from a poetry perspective here, I sometimes emulate lines to get the training of their sound, but will settle on something different

Every piece of art is inspired by other things. If an author wants to reference their inspirations, all the more to them, but you cannot call it theft is someone doesn't. Every word I speak has been taught to me. Every poem I write is informed by all the other poetry I've read.

from it. And applied that to their own vision and tale.

AI has no purpose when it recreates from data, it doesn't have a backstory, it doesn't have a world unto itself. People do. So if I see someone's painting and see bit of Van Gogh in it, I don't assume they've use Van Gogh as training data like you would with an AI. I assume they've taken value

There's a difference between the synthesis that occurs when a human looks at different works of art and collates pieces they want into a piece that tells their own story, and what AI does. I don't believe in a soul, but I believe our human stories give us unique lenses each.

When people ask me why my favourite colour is green, I'm gonna respond, 'because it's the only colour the moon doesn't turn.'

Whenever making churches in my minecraft map I always worry they're too boring, but then I see the layout of regular churches and realise that's pretty accurate.

Heya, this looks really cool! I'm looking for a pencil drawn version of a ginger child in a blue (or red, haven't decided yet) t-shirt and jeans, kneeling and inspecting a tarantula in its cage. For the song Willard! by Will Wood. Dm me

I'm looking for a small ginger child kneeling next to a tarantula in a terrarium. Preferably pencil drawn kinda style, and in the corner of the screen to make room for song lyrics which I will add.
