I've don't post a lot, but we've past what I believe is Little Miss Nala's 2nd birthday. November 1st or 2nd will be our 1st "Gotcha Day" anniversary. She's come so far in the past year. Here is a recent pic of her on her new cat tree I bought a couple of weeks before my knee replacement surgery.

When my little furry faced buddy passed away last September, I was devastated, depressed, & despondent. I seriously didn't care what happened to me, didn't care if I lived or died. Mr. Dingdong (on the left) had an urinary issue. I adopted Little Miss Nala (on the right) in November.

Little Miss Nala has been with me since November. The first few weeks she hid out, was leary of me, & would explore at night. Today she's picking on me. Below is a pic of her with her plants (aloe, catnip, & cat grass). She loves her plants & inspects them multiple times a day.

It has been 4 months since I adopted Little Miss Nala. She has come around so much in that time. She kept chewing on the aloe plant, so I got her some catnip & cat grass to go with it. She has to check on them several times a day.

I've had Little Miss Nala for a month now. She has really blossomed. She's gone from a shy & scared kitty cat to a rowdy boisterous fur ball. She plays a lot & without encouragement. She has her toys (my previous cat's toys) scattered all over the house. I got her some toys of her own for Xmas.

Miss Nala Update: I've had Nala for 2 weeks & 3 days now. She's settling in, but we're still having some difficulties; mainly her desire to hide out all day long. I've been keeping the bedroom doors closed so she can't hide out under the beds, & been trying to block off the underside of the sofa.

After I got my "barrier" fixed so Little Miss Nala couldn't get behind the water heater (I got afraid she would get stuck back there & had no idea how I'd get to her if I needed to), she has found herself a new hidey hole. In the corner of the dining room behind my canning rack.

Little Miss Nala update. The change in Nala over the past couple of days has been remarkable. Last night before I went to bed, I carried an extra blankie in the utility room to try & provide her some extra shield from the cold. She slept on the blankies all night.

She is coming around to me. I got her Friday afternoon. She spent Friday night under the sofa, Saturday under my bed, & this morning I found her hiding in the shower. I moved her to the utility room, hoping the smaller room would be less overwhelming.

I took the plunge yesterday and adopted a beautiful little Torte female. Her name is Nala, and all she wants to do is hide right now. I got some of those pheromone diffusers that suppose to calm them.

In the morning I have to go say goodbye to my best friend in the world. I'm going to miss seeing his furry little face every day. There's nothing the vets can do that will make him well again. I feel gutted, depressed, despondent, I don't know what to do. Maybe we can meet up again in another life.

I posted a few days about my little buddy being sick & having to go to the vet. He was there a week & a half. I brought him home on Wednesday morning & things seemed to be going okay. Then yesterday he started getting worse. I called the vet.

My little buddy is doing better. The vets said his urine is looking better, so hopefully he's getting all the crystals flushed out of his bladder. They did call me yesterday and asked if I could bring him some of his prescription food because they were running low. I told them of course.

If everyone could, please send my little buddy all the positive thoughts & healing vibes you can. He is at the vet. He's had a urinary condition common to cats for years & we've kept under control, but on Monday I had to rush him to the vet. My heart is breaking at the thought of losing him.

I'm getting ready to can ~8 lbs. of beef stew meat. Maybe that's the best way to spend today. Preserving food so that it does not require refrigeration/freezing so that I know I have a little food security in my future. My little cantry from the first of the year. I have much more in it now.

This last weekend I made & canned 8 quarts of vegetable soup & 10 pints of herbed potatoes. Other things in my cantry: pork n beans, ground beef, candied jalapeños, apple sauce, pineapple jam, chicken soup, tomato juice, & goulash.

Here's my little monster, Dingdong. He's sacked out in his bed on his blankie with his heating pad underneath. The cat distribution network blessed me with him back in 2017. He started out an indoor/outdoor cat, but after a feral tom tried to kill him, he was promoted to indoor cat.

I keep seeing these. And most look like some good reads. I don't know that I can come up with 20, but some like "Sleeping, Dreaming, & Dying" by the Dalai Lama certainly helped me put some things in perspective.

That's got to be staged or AI generated. It just doesn't look right. I see comments about a setup like this being easier on people with back problems, bad knees, etc. Here's what I set up so I could grow some veggies w/o killing my bad knee. I'm also working on setting up raised beds.
